Positiv: "I had never heard of Qatar Airways before I booked a 24hr flight to and from Sydney, Australia. I only did this on the suggestion from a friend that stated Qatar Airways was "alright". So for the price I thought what the heck! I was extremely pleased with the service from the cabin crew. They are always polite, professional, and well trained compared to my previous favorites Delta and Lufthansa. The seats were comfortable (as comfortable as Economy and 24hours of flying can be), the entertainment and aircraft were state of the art, and the food was outstanding for airline food. If I get the chance in the future I will definitely choose Qatar Airways for long trips."

"DO NOT FLY WITH THIS AIRLINE! To start with, we were charged an extra $100 for our carry-on baggage apparently being overweight. This was not something we were told about prior to flying or we would have packed differently. During our layover in Portugal, we were delayed. Once they started to board, we got on the bus and drove out to the plane. Upon arriving at the plane, there were already two other busses there that had not even offloaded yet since they were apparently still servicing the plane. We had to stand in a crowded bus for about 45 minutes packed in like sardines. So much for social distancing and covid concerns! The plane itself was uncomfortable and the service terrible. I have flown across the Atlantic many many times on other airlines and have always received amazing service. This was not the case with TAP. Other than a small glass of water, we were only served drinks one time. There were no refills or additional service, which for a 9-hour flight is unheard of. I hated every minute of my time with TAP and will never fly with them again even if someone offered me a free ticket."

I purposely did not check a bag because I had limited time to make a train connection at my final destination, plus I had to go thru customs and I knew that in itself would be time consuming. I explained this to the airline staff, but they did not care. I think they should have first asked for volunteers; and if still needed, then randomly select people to check in the carry-on. Also they only were making people with the “suitcase” carry-on to check them in....anyone with a duffle-looking bag was not even bothered. Luckly, I’m mange to make my train connection, but I was running to do this...not fun at all."

Positiv: "When we were unable to travel due to Corona Virus restrictions, Ethiopian gave us a full refund even though we had a non-refundable ticket, and they were lovely about it when they did it. A+, hope I'll get a chance to actually fly with them soon."

There was not enough room in the boarding area so everyone was pushing and shoving. I can't recommend Ethiopian airways to anyone after this experience."

Positiv: "Having never even heard of Ethiopian Airline, our expectations weren’t very high. We found the boarding process to work well. The staff was great and the meals were very good. The flights were on time and efficient."
Negativ: "On many of the flights we had to use the roll up stairs. The water that they served tasted like tap water. The seats seem closer (less leg room) than other airlines."

Positiv: "Free entertainment! Wish they worked with gogo to purchase WiFi though. Bathrooms are roomier than other airplanes! I’m glad the crew gave me the sandwich even though I was sleeping."
Negativ: "One of the toilet covers wouldn’t stay up so you had to hold it while going. Paper towels would be nicer than tissue paper. Wasn’t able to use my boarding pass from my phone, waste of paper. Ginger ale would be a nice drink. Didn’t find a list of their drinks in magazine, that would make it easier. Whenever I needed to use the restroom they locked us out a lot whether for head count or re fueling."

Positiv: "It is an African airline so I am doing my best to support it. I am grateful I was allocated to a hotel for my long layover"
Negativ: "I had a long layover in Addis and the hotel I was allocated to could improve its service. I was expected to be served breakfast in the morning. My flight was at 820 am There could be some improvement on food"

Positiv: "Flight crew was nice and responded to problems well. More trash pick up and water service would have been nice as it was a thirsty, long flight. I was given more water when asked it just wasn’t freely offered."
Negativ: "The arrangement of the airport was disconcerting. To get to your gate you have to pass a another security point that you can not leave. The area was akin to a cattle yard. No bathroom, water, or amenities. You had to stay in your pen until boarding. Duty free was not allowed and had to be purchased on the plane for an additional cost. Not to mention the whole stopping in Dublin, Ireland for fuel without notice. There was nothing in my paperwork about it and we were only told to stay in our seats for the next hour or so while they refueled. We didn’t do that on the flight over was that was worrying and we were given no additional information."

Positiv: "After a bit of confusion in ADD airport, we reached the terminal where my connecting flight was leaving from. Terminal 1 of ADD airport should be avoided at all costs! Boarding and the flight crew did a admirable and top job and made the difference for me."
Negativ: "Terminal 1 Disgusting. Rundown, embarrassing, chaos everywhere and no real sense of security. No police or security presence. You could just walk right into a gate! I was shocked to see this especially being from NYC. If you can avoid Terminal 1 do so. The seats were DISGUSTING! Dirty, warped fabric seating was dirty and caked on. Smelled and many seats were visually broken. I'm glad I brought with me some Clorox wipes to wipe my area down with. You get what you pay for but wow! I would not spend my money on this airline again."

Positiv: "The cabin crew did a good job of managing all sorts of issues, and they had a lot to deal with. People switching seats, refusing to get up from wrong seats, oversized carry on, personal hygiene. The crew did their job professionally and with a smile. Made big impression. I did have a much different and better experience going from ADD to BKK"

The monitors were unresponsive to touch, antiquated ear phone/ plug system and the seats were nasty, covered in a cloth material and disgusting! On some seats you can see stains that will not come out. Ever. The food was....airline food."

I tried to cancel my flight because I booked the flight with the necessity of arriving by specific days and times and they insisted on charging me for it so I just forfeited my seat and trip all together. There's nothing good to say about Ethiopian airlines."
