Negativ: "Im Gegensatz zu meinen bisherigen Flügen mit der Lufthansa in der Business Class war diesmal eine Flugbegleitung für 12 Passagiere alleine zuständig, was bei zwei Kleinkindern und einem "anspruchsvollen" Passagier bereits zu einer ansatzweisen Überforderung geführt hat (Essen und Getränke wurden äußerst zeitverzögert gebracht, Schwimmweste und Anschnallgurt für Kleinkind wurde in zwei Gängen gebracht und der Gurt erst kurz vor der Startbahn der Mutter übergeben. Eine Whiskey Sorte war nur für ein Glas vorhanden und war bei einem rund neunstündigen Flug binnen 15 Minuten vergeben. Äußerst ärgerlich, wenn die gebotenen Alternativen keine sind."

Aus nicht ersichtlichen Gründen wurden bereits zuvor Flüge von LH und EW nach MUC annulliert. Erst gegen 21 Uhr erfolgte die Snkündigung dass 21:45 die neue Abflugszeit wäre. Gestartet ist die Maschiene dann um 22:05 Uhr. Die Kommunikation war sehr schlecht, das Bodenpersonal schloss bis zuletzt keine Annulierung aus."

Positiv: "Upstairs deck for economy is a small space but is relatively quiet. Boarding was relatively quick through electronic gates where you scan your boarding card. Flight attendant was very personable. She was checking some passenger names as some seemed to have switched seats and remembered mine for the rest of the flight. Something you usually get in business class but a first for me in economy. They also came around several times during the flight with water/juice, and snacks. Entertainment was ok. A mixture of newer movies available."
Negativ: "Like all economy seating not much space especially when the person in front reclines their seat. This makes getting in and out of the seat a little difficult. Food a bit limited. 2 main meals for this flight (lunch/dinner) - chicken or pasta for the first one and beef or pasta (again) for the pre-landing meal. Also the attendant didn’t know the translation of the pasta dish from German to English so that was a bit disappointing. One thing to note. I flew Hamburg to Frankfurt to connect to the San Francisco flight with a 1 hour layover. You need to go through passport control in FRA and then I hustled to get to the gate. They were boarding as I arrived but maybe 10 minutes later and I would have missed my flight. No issues with the airline just a cautionary note on the layover time. I would likely book an earlier connecting flight to give a bit more time."

Ich kam mir vor wie auf einer Kaffeefahrt, ständig Werbung für irgendwas, was man kaufen soll: FlyNet, Boardshop, irgendein Hilfsprojekt."

Crowd of people, huge lines, all disorganized. The control for EU passengers was not so crowded but you couldn't see it at the end of the line, so even people who didn't have to were all crowding in the same cue. Horrible experience and I almost missed my flight because of this mess."

Bordpersonal war sagen wir mal nicht unfreundlich, mehr aber auch nicht. Höflich, zuvorkommend und aufmerksam ist anders. Der Flug ging von Berlin. Es lag also auf der Hand, dass sehr viele Fluggäste deutsch als ihre Muttersprache haben. Das störte die Flugbegleiterin aber nicht. Sie sprach ein so schnelles und undeutliches Englisch, dass sie nicht bis gar nicht zu verstehen war."

Negativ: "Klar, die Flieger werden immer enger... aber für die Umwelt ist es schon besser, wenn dafür weniger Flieger starten also beklage ich mich auch nicht so sehr drüber. Am Besten wäre es, wenn es mehr Züge gäbe für solche kurze Strecken."
Negativ: "Total commotion at gate. Two flights jammed into one small gate area. Rep was surly and embarrased many who were confused in the commotion and ynclear communication from the boarding agent. Tv didnt work for 4 hrs."

Positiv: "Das Boarding und die Durchführung waren super. Das Personal sprach Französisch. Nicht alles wurde auf Englisch wiederholt. Getränke wurden NUR EIN MAL angeboten. Essen hat Geld gekostet - nicht gut. United Airlines hat zwar auch essen Gegen Geld angeboten, aber hat mindestens 3 Mal von sich auch Getränke angeboten. Also von sich aus."
Negativ: "Kaum Beinfreiheit. Essen nur gehen Geld."
Negativ: "We were already running late when during take off, one of the engines malfunctioned and we had to emergency break on the runway and go back to the gate. Because it was unexpected, we had to wait even longer for a gate to become available. We then had to re go through customs and get our bags then wait in line again at the counter to schedule our flight for the next day. Thankfully we were given a hotel room and money for food. Very scary experience overall on the runway, but they tried to handle it as smoothly as possible under the unusual circumstances."
Positiv: "The gate agent was extremely helpful and was able to accommodate me standby on this flight vs a later flight."

Negativ: "over 3 hours delayed. no compensation for drinks/food no communications re: options and timing. I would have rather forfeited my seat on yesterday's flight (which didn't leave until after 10pm - scheduled for 7) and taken the first flight out of YVR today. Super frustrating - Have greater expectations from Air canada."
Positiv: "Flight attendants were rude had to check my carry on since there was no room overhead cabin. This happens frequently with Air Canada"

Negativ: "I wasn't able to check in online or through the kiosk to my flight and then had to wait in a 2 hour line to check in at the counter. After I get to the counter the ground staff grumbles and says I'm just going to make it to my flight!!"
Negativ: "The flight was delayed several times without any explanation or update from Air Canada at all. Everyone was at the gate ready to board at 6:50. The screen didn't indicate that it was going to be delayed. There was no one from the crew or AC at all at the gate until 8:30. No announcement, whatsoever. Then when we finally arrived at SFO, the plane was circling above SFO in a storm for another one hour and fifteen minutes..."

Negativ: "The flight was outrageously hot the entire time. There were no A/C vents above the seats, probably because the dated plane may have been built before temperature control. It was honestly almost unbearable."

I noticed that there were several TVs around me that also were having issues. On a long flight- 5+ plus hours, a TV with movies can be extremely helpful! If the technology had been kept functional, it would have been a much more tolerable flight."

Negativ: "The plane was full and was running out of over head storage for people sitting toward the back and people already seated were being very rude about us slightly moving their bags to try to fit in ours. Some angry Spaniards were litterslly shouting at us for us moving their luggage a few inches at best! No help from the plane crew on this matter. They should really arrange boarding from both ends."

ALL overhead compartments were empty. Both flights - Quebec to Montreal and Montreal San Francisco were late. As the result, we have to spend 1.5 hours in the baggage claim area, because "there are no baggage agents in SFO available". THAT WAS THE WHOLE REASON WE ONLY HAD CARRY-ONS! By far, one of the worst flight experience in the last 10 year."

Negativ: "Delay with boarding for about hour without a good explanation. All monitors in airport shows plane on time when it actually was not. Boarding process also took a bit of time perhaps due to many elderly on the flight. Seating was also confusing as the middle seats did not correspond with aisle seating. This caused delays as passengers had to figure out where they were sitting. Checked in luggage at gate since flight was full and we were asked to volunteer to check-in luggage. At baggage claim, bag delay to retrieve luggage after already hour delay in departure. Bags was not labeled or categorized correctly causing an extra half hour delay to claim bags."
Negativ: "Air Canada shares a trait with many other incompetent organizers: everything is fine if nothing goes wrong, but there are no contingency plans in place in case something goes wrong. So, things get more and more delayed. Can't you predict roughly when the plane is going to land (once it is in the air!) and arrange for some gate to be open, so that we don't have to sit on the ground for 45 minutes once it has landed, for example? People who know how to organize are ordinarily capable of doing that. Furthermore, the lack of transparency is really frustrating: we just sit on the tarmac with no indication of how long we're going to be there, and the estimates of the delays are completely wrong when we're given them."
Negativ: "Flight left two hours late. They split my wife and I up despite having our tickets for two months and checking in well before the flight and then lost our luggage and delivered it a full day later than they told us."
Negativ: "The fight had intercom problems and that delayed us for 5+ hours with no decision as to the resolution. We finally got home at 4 AM ...."
Positiv: "Delay of 1-2 hours (first plane was at the wrong gate, and then technical issues) Montreal customs was very confusing, probably contributing to the overall crankiness of everyone on the flight. Purchased a beer, which was warm and disappointing, even though I knew it was a tasty beer normally."

Negativ: "Flights delayed both there and back, with no advance warning and no reason given. Online & airport signage said flight "on time" the whole time. Asked Air Canada Customer Service desk in Toronto to change signage to accurate time, they were SUPER snooty and treated me like an idiot. Signage did not change, my husband came to airport "on time" to pick me up and then had to sit there 1-1/2 hours. They are inconsiderate jerks."
Positiv: "Was really tired as just arrived from Tokyo, but it went well. Folks nice."
Negativ: "Airport signage and boarding was a bit confusing, as our announcements overlapped with the gate next door and couldn't tell difference easily."

Negativ: "Big problems with frequent flyer miles. After a number of hours into the effort I am told my miles won't count. For the average airline it takes about 30 seconds to join the frequent flyer club. Air Canada now is my last choice for long flights. Ok maybe before Frontier."

Negativ: "if i knew the name of the man i talked to at checkin i would make a complaint specifically about him. i lost my passport a few days before coming home and went to the united states consulate where they told me to bring a printed copy of my passport and the united states boarding patrol would let me back into the united states. the man at the checkin didn't want to let me through to even speak to the united states border patrol and told me the consulate was wrong. i almost missed my flight because of his stubborn arrogance. once past him i was able to explain what happened and show what identification I had and everyone was very nice to me."
Positiv: "The crew members tried their best in the unfortunate circumstance and the choices of movies was okay but it was better than nothing."
Negativ: "I chose to fly directly to save time, and I spent the extra $100 for choosing this option over flights with a layover. I ended up waiting an additional 2 and a half hours before the flight took off -- in this time I also requested for a blanket since the air craft got cold. There was an extra charge for this as well. It is ridiculous considering, the purpose of my flight choice was to ensure that I saved time and in return I paid for the convenience, ironically it didn't work out that way. There was no form of compensation."
Positiv: "Bags were checked all the way through, Canada to US and I didn't have to recheck them before connection into US."
Negativ: "That they make you take your headphones off during takeoff and landing - ear buds only makes no sense."
Positiv: "The trip from Toronto to San Francisco was better than the San Francisco trip because the return trip was on a Boeing 747 and a much more comfortable than the Airbus."
Negativ: "The Airbus red eye going to Toronto was too cramped so it was not very relaxing. The planes are not clean. I'm glad I have wipes to clean the table tray because it was messy."
