Negativ: "where do I start....seats are incredibly close together and once the passenger reclines their seat, it is actually painful. I don't consider myself overly tall or large at 5'10" and 190 pounds, yet I did not have circulation in my legs for nearly the entire flight. The pilot indicated that flight would be only 9 1/2 hours and ended up being 14.5 hours due to a maintenance issue that required us to make a stop in Anchorage. Pilot said it would only take 30-40 minutes to repair (supplemental oxygen bottle was apparently empty) and after 3 1/2hrs I think we were finally airborne, only to be delayed an additional 45 minutes or so upon landing because our gate was occupied by another plane. So what, they can't find another gate to use? The whole flight there was also delayed for an unexpected stop in Anchorage to get more fuel for the flight. Did they not complete proper flight planning? I'm a pilot and I know you can check winds aloft and plan your route with ample fuel for emergencies. So did this pilot not properly plan for the flight? I can go on and on about why I won't be flying with Delta for a long long time....so the 5,000 air miles they gave me as a courtesy for putting me through so much pain...well those extra miles are useless to me. How about refunding me the cost of my horrible flight?"

Negativ: "My email is not linked to my phone, so I got no warning notices of two gate changes waiting for my connecting flight home. I waited at the original gate (C39) from arrival time (2:30 pm) til boarding time (5:40 pm). When I saw no change to my destination, I checked the United App to find that the gate had been changed C33). Rushing to C33 I found another flight boarding at that location with one United Representative who could not stop to answer questions. Seeing two unoccupied Representatives at the next gate (C32), I asked if they could help me with the confusion, they said I should check with gate C33 - which I told them that she was too busy with other passengers. I searched for a Departure Board and discovered that gate C33 was still the gate, but "aircraft maintenance" had delayed the flight until after 8:20. After having to check my carry-on because of lack of space in the overheads, my departure from the airport was further delayed another 30 minutes. Upon returning home and checking my email, I found notifications of two different gate changes (C33 & C44). Announcements should have been made at both gate C39 about the changing of the gate and at C33 explaining the problem. The captain's lame excuse about air conditioning and Phoenix's hot weather was lame to say the least."

Negativ: "I didn't go on my trip. My course in SF was cancelled and United would n't refund my money or change the dates for my trips because of there basic economy package. They have 3 different economy packages and the economy basic doesn't get refunds and you can't change the flights if needed. It feels like they are banking on increasing there ROI with this basic economy ticket which is 40 -60 dollars cheaper than the next economy package. Intuitively they know people will pick that, but if something comes up the customer is screwed."

Negativ: "The flight was half empty and when I tried to move a row ahead of me (from economy to economy plus), the flight attendance rudely told me I had to move back to my seat since the economy plus seat was $70 more. However, a reasonable airline would upgrade their customers to first or economy plus to not only appease their customers but to fill some empty seats. Therefore, I had to spend the entirety of my redeye flights crammed next to someone while I was looking at an almost empty economy plus section. Also, we boarded earlier than expected but we spend an extra hour on the flight waiting to take off. I would not have minded boarding early if we had taken off early, but we took off an hour later."

Positiv: "Surprisingly positive experience on United. Unfortunately for ANZ, they have to deal with UA as their "partner" stateside, as UA has a habit of always messing something up. On this flight, I was pleasantly surprised...the flight left on time and arrived early, the bags were a little slow but acceptable, and the crew was good. The only complaint is the typical lack of room on UA planes. Fortunately the flight was less than 2 hours."

I have experienced worse on recent UA flights...at least this time my knees weren't actually touching the seat in front of me, and the person in front of me chose not to recline their seat so it stayed that way. The other issue with this flight was the boarding process, which was really slow. Fortunately, they towed the plane to the gate over an hour before departure and started boarding almost immediately so we still managed to leave on time."

Positiv: "Mebbe UA learned its lesson after being skewed for a couple of customer horror stories. My domestic flight from MCO to ORD was entirely pleasant. The plane left on time & arrived on time. I noticed quite a few airport employees at O’Hare had a chip on their shoulders, as if they hated their job but needed it to live. There’s better jobs out there if you don’t like dealing w the public."
