The ground crew were great, assisting me with a wheelchair. The pilot aborted our landing so that was a little scary. Otherwise all was good.

Wie üblich wird nur ein Röntgengerät benutzt, da für das zweite kein Personal vorhanden ist! Dadurch dauert der Boardprozess wie immer länger als geplant."

Negativ: "I was very disappointed with Kenya Airways on my recent round trip from Kigali to New York to visit family for Christmas. Due to a delay on my connecting flight from Kigali to Nairobi, I missed my flight to JFK and had to stay in Kenya for a full day, shortening my already brief trip. I do not know what caused this delay other than Kenya Airways staff having seemingly no urgency to get us off the ground. On my return flight to Kigali a delay attributed to “operations” increased my layover from 8 hours to 12 hours. On top of the scheduled delay we were delayed an additional hour because boarding did not begin when it should have. I was also less than impressed with the movie selection on the plane. I will not be flying with Kenya Airways again and now understand why they were the cheapest option!"

Negativ: "My Air India and Kenya Airways flights were packaged together as though they were a code share, but when my initial let on Air India from Delhi to Mumbai was delayed I missed my connection to Nairobi. What followed was a bizarre five-hour scramble in the Mumbai airport that ranks in the top three worst flight experiences I’ve ever had. I had already checked in and had a emailed boarding pass, but wasn’t let through security without the official airline printout. Although the Kenya Airways Nairobi flight was also delayed and was still several hours from boarding, their staff was nowhere to be found and none of their 10+ customer service numbers was working. I finally managed to get a hold of a representative over the phone via the airport’s information counter, and she swore that a staff member was on the way to meet me. Two hours and several calls and assurances later, the flight took off without me and the Kenya Airways staff stopped picking up the phone. Then there was a crazy several hours of back and forth as a single employee emerged and demanded that I get a letter from Air India taking responsibility for the initial delay, before disappearing again for several hours. The disorganization, unprofessionalism and outright lies I encountered were frankly bizarre and unlike anything I’ve encountered while flying before."

Positiv: "Everything was great except for all but one flight attendant who could have done with a lesson in charm. There was one very charming attendant whose name began with M but was an unusual name. She was a world class attendant and the others could learn from her. The pilot was well spoken as did a great job taking off & landing."

Negativ: "We had to transit in Addis (connecting from Dakar) and the whole experience of going through the Addis airport, getting the voucher for the hotel, and going to the hotel was horrible: it took forever going through immigration and getting a simple stamp on the voucher (the latter an unsafe experience and time consuming, with hundreds of people piled up to get those stamps from just two people, crashing again each other, with no order, no lines). Somewhat there has to be a better way to manage this and make the experience safer and more comfortable to everybody. For instance, just enforcing to stay in line and organizing the lines would have saved everybody a lot of time and effort."

Improved communication from the Ethiopian Airline staff would have gone a long way to calming the situation and reassuring passengers."

Positiv: "When I originally booked this trip it was with one connection and a 16 hour commute time. They added legs to my trip which significantly increased travel time. I tried to cancel my flight because I booked the flight with the necessity of arriving by specific days and times and they insisted on charging me for it so I just forfeited my seat and trip all together. There's nothing good to say about Ethiopian airlines."

I had to call my parents in Washington DC from Nairobi, have them drive out to Dulles airport and work it out at the Ethiopian office there to give the OK for me to get checked in in Nairobi. The whole process took about four hours and three managers all while I was stewing, worried I wouldnt make it on my flight."

Negativ: "We were delayed for 30 minutes, then for one hour, then they announced a delay for 3 hours. They changed the gate twice and the staff was not communicating what is happening and when we are supposed to board. Also, they did not add my miles for my connecting flight."

Negativ: "I found the staff to be very slow, on all 4 flights it tool them an extensive amount of time to walk down with drinks and food service. I was also sitting under the overhead that had blankets and they kept waking me up through out the flight when trying to get a blanket. I wanted to perches a watch that no all the flights had and when they did I couldn't ad ou don't take Credit Card. Flying from Israel to South Africa all I had was Shekel and Rands. How was I to know that I needed to carry Dollars On me."
Negativ: "It was a night flight (~4-5 hours), however, 80% the time the lights were on... people did not want to eat/drink... and get disturbed constantly by the crew. We just wanted to sleep. Without lights"
