My trip was very good on Japan Airlines. I used the wheelchair service and everyone was very helpful! The food was a step down from what I experienced before when a Japanese choice was offered.
the biggest disappointments was, we were not informed of all the information we need, on our scheduled trip coming back to US.. We've tried a lot of times calling and send an email asking about any procedures that we might need to know upon our return trip, but unfortunately there was no response either at all. then came the horrific day of our return trip to US. after an hour and a half being in the long line, we are surprised when one of the airline staff announce that we need to prepare all documents needed including ANTIGEN TEST. This was the start of our horrific experience on that day. Were told different information from other sources, but heard nothing from JAL, as mentioned earlier that we tried calling them to ask for any info for our flight. Long story short as a result of this horrific misfortune caused by this airline, aside from the unexpected huge expenses that we incurred, as of this moment this problem is not yet resolve as we called them letting them of the situation happened to us in our recent Manila trip going to Seattle May 31, 2022.
The JAL staff were all great at SFO and Haneda. I highly recommend JAL. I know I will be looking out for future flights with JAL. The food was very good as well as the snacks they prepared. Entertainment ok, the movie selection was ok. If JAL could add usbc charging that would be great. Also Bluetooth connectivity to the entertainment system would awesome. The headset connectivity was not great. High pitched noise came out if the headset. I did have trouble contacting JAL support while in Japan. I needed information about Covid testing for my return to the US. Basically no one picked up the phone. I ended up paying a lot of money for Covid testing when I could have paid less if I could have confirmed some information over the phone. Hopefully the US stops requiring Covid testing for entering the US or cheaper options become available. $160 x 4 was no fun!!

The seats were pretty good as well - they had a feature for extension of the seating surface to allow for more thigh support (which I love) as well as great lumbar support. the movie selection was OK - neither great nor bad, and I ended up watching 4 movies during the flight anyway. ;)"
Negativ: "I preface this section by saying that I'm being very nit-picky here - there's not much I can really say, except that the seats, while they will recline to a flat surface, which is great for dozing off, they are angled about 15 degrees so you're constantly sliding down them in that position. Also, there could be more support for your head in the reclined position - I had to futz with pillows and a blanket to get that comfortable. However, the reclined position was the most comfortable, and I could get it so that I was sufficiently reclined with my legs extended and horizontal, while laying back without sliding down. This was sufficient for resting. I'm only mentioning this because I flew a business class flight on Delta in 2015 which had ridiculously amazing seats that reclined all the way flat and horizontal. On the 9-11 hour flight from Tokyo back to San Diego, which will take place mainly at night, this would be a very useful feature."

When she realised that I had booked with kiwi.com her comment was ’dont ever book with them again, we have so much trouble getting the information we need’ Thats not good advertisement for your organisation!!

Check-in Zürich: Rollstuhl war angemeldet, aber selbst auf Nachfrage fühlte sich niemand zuständig. Erst am Gate kam Unterstützung, aber da war es ja auch unvermeidlich (!?) Helsinki und Tromsö war vorbildlich!
Typischer inner-europäischer flug. Frühstück in der Business Class sehr rudimentär
Wir flogen Business Class Langstrecke auf dem A350. Das Bett ist etwas kurz und geht sehr spitz an den Füßen zu. Die bestellte Obstplatte war schwach.
Check in was a disaster. We had to check in to each leg separately - and had to figure that out on our own. Buying a FinnAir marketed flight created a nightmare.
British Airways food was very tasteless but the staff were very accommodating for me and my baby boy.

Ich habe auch mein Ticket (79 Euro ) mit der dB für eine Bearbeitungsgebühr von 19 Euro tauschen können .. und die was nicht schuld und hat einen schlechten Ruf ;) gerne flexibler werden wenn Flexibilität von Passagieren erwartet wird . Eventually the girl began using her arm rests on either side of the aisle to swing herself. I finally mentioned this and the lack of seat belt fastening to F.A. who said "They're from Latvia. These Eastern Europeans don't think about things the way you and I do." The child was blocking the aisle at times and the F.A. did nothing."

Negativ: "We paid for economy comfort and signed up for the 2x2 seats. Instead we received the 2 seats in the middle of 4. we were more than upset, there is no way we would every request the 2 worst seats in that area and given my husband is 6'6' Did not make for a happy experience."
