I always book an isle seat, especially for long flights (this was 12 hrs.), so that I can get up and stretch my legs etc. The couple sitting beside me were upset that I did not take the window seat. When it came time to sleep, the wife stretched out over her husbands legs, who was sitting beside me. This meant her feet were coming on top of my legs, and her legs were forcing her husbands legs into my space, touching my leg - I had to put a pillow between my leg and his leg. I asked the Qatar hostess if she could please ask the couple to change their positions, so that my seating space was respected, resulting in no body touching. The hostess replied that she was not permitted to ask the couple to change their positions and be more respectful. Fortunately there was another unreserved isle seat and I was able to move. Due to the fact that airplanes have become cultural melting pots, thousands of feet in the air, I think it would be peacefully beneficial too all, if a very discreet announcement could be made at the beginning of each flight regrading seating etiquette, respectfulness towards others etc. this could also be printed in the flight magazine. Thanks in advance."

Negativ: "-carry-on did not fit on center overhead compartment unless I put it side ways, which then takes up space for other passengers. Same carry-on suitcase fit nicely on Emirates airplanes. Basically, carry-on overhead compartments have been made smaller on purpose or by engineering error, and this makes me not want to fly Qatar airlines again. Less food options. I went to the Gally and they only had kitkat bars for food. Emirates offer fruit, sandwiches, and many choices at ALL TIMES of the flight for economy class."

Ablauf für den Flug von Sydney nach Abu Dhabi sehr komisch. Start um 15:15, direkt eine Mahlzeit serviert, dann für 11 Stunden Licht aus. Kurz vor der Landung nochmal Essen (ca. 22:30)."

The business class lounge was nice but needs a quiet area where people who have long layovers (like us) can lay down and have a darkened room for a bit of rest."
Negativ: "The seat I was in was very hard and definitely needs more padding. My but was killing me during the flight but the cabin crew helped me by gin I got me 2blankets to fold up and sit on. The pillows are way too big and hard. I recommend paring them down the size they currently are. I was in seat 7-E. The business class bus was last to come so we waited for a long time to get to the plane. Most of economy was boarded before us. But not really a big problem as we did get on the plane with no problem."

Negativ: "I checked in at Hyderabad and the check in staff were more than unprofessional. First they said my carry on bag and laptop bag should be no more than 7 kgs which was wrong. Later when I asked them to show the baggage restrictions, they went back saying it's okay. I had only 1 check in bag and it weight 1 kg more. I thought they would allow it since I had only 1 check in bag but they made me take out that extra kg and check in my carry on as second bag. Finally I asked for an aisle seat and they said the flight was full. But when I boarded the IAD flight I was rather surprised to see quite a few aisle and window seats. So rather than being a great experience, I would say it was a mediocre one because of the Hyderabad staff."

Negativ: "The flight almost landed in Bahrain but the captain decides not to and the excuse was bad weather. So he just turned around and went back to Abu Dhabi. There was no plane for people to board Abu Dhabi and were left stranded. Thankfully the airport staff re-booked everyone immediately and dealt with the situation efficiently in a professional way. I was delayed by at least 8 hours. There was no email from Etihad about the canceled flight or an apology. It was a bit disappointing given that they are my favorite airline."

Negativ: "The food was not good and our flight attendant was not attentive. He didn’t make the people in front of us put their seats back up for landing. There were no blankets when we requested one."

Positiv: "personal ok, Essen dieses Mal sehr gut, was aber natürlich immer subjektiv ist. Aber nachdem ich vorher immer Kichererbsen bekommen habe, war ich über Tofu mit Reis sehr glücklich."

Negativ: "Die Sitze kamen mir sehr beengt vor, das Essen konnte ich mir vorher aussuchen, da ich vegan esse, gab es auch die Möglichkeit, ein entsprechendes Menü auszuwählen, was ich sehr positiv finde. Das Essen selbst war so lala, aber im Flieger erwarte ich mir auch nichts besonderes"

Negativ: "Ground agent at Melbourne manager says "sorry, you can't carry your CPAP machine. When I said that there were no questions when I carried it from NY to Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi to Melbourne two weeks ago, he says that the policy was changed last week. Gave a hell of a bad time but finally allowed. These people don't know the policies and just harass customers."
