I had to leave the airport to find a place with wifi because I didn't have service and the airport doesn't have WiFi. I had to contact a family back home in the US to wire me money. The money never came thru and I had to make a cash advance with my credit card which resulted in me having to pay fees. The entire process almost caused me to miss my flight and the lady at the check-in counter tried to keep my change. After wasting all the time getting the money to pay for the extra bag fee the staff were rushing me to get to the plane and threatening me I would be left behind even though it's not my fault I'm running late. I was not happy with my experience."

The airlines was not willing to do anything about my other flight I missed and me spending overnight in Bangkok."

Negativ: "In a lot of airports, if a flight is delayed, the airline is aware and holds planes on the ground for a few mins if there are multiple people that will miss the connection. In this case, we were delayed for 2 hours, arrive to Nairobi and am at the gate 15 mins before and they sent me to customer service as the gate had just closed. More than 5 other people on the flight missed this common connection as well. Not only did KQ not have a system in place to work with other flights, the service area was completely swamped. People missed their connections because they couldn't get to the front in time to have a boarding pass printed or have a question answered. The staff were rude and didn't give eye contact or answer questions."

Negativ: "Late departures, unscheduled stop for crew, and baggage not making new flights made me miss two transfer flights. Closed sales kiosk in Johannesburg unable to get an hotel and meal vouchers. Sales lady was rude the next day. Arrived Cape Town over 24 hours late."

Positiv: "KQ is the best East African airline by far. The planes are newer and cleaner and the flight attendants really do make an effort to give a high-level of customer service. I've missed my transfer due to a weather delay before and was impressed with KQs attention to getting me overnight accommodation. It would be great if we could sort out the regular delays of KQ410 into Entebbe which directly impacts KQ411 back out to NBO. The regular delays are often due to weather but just as often due to scheduling or flight issues. Delaying that flight makes my transfers really tight and adds some stress to my experience, especially with the extra security level in Nairobi. If we could find a way to fast track transfers, that would be an improvement. Overall, KQ is the best, but please continue to find ways to be better."

Negativ: "Flight was delayed by nearly 4 hours due to a cargo loading issue in Mombasa. Communication from Ethiopian Airlines staff regarding the issue & delay was very poor. Passengers were becoming very anxious and tense regarding the flight, if it would depart, and the safety of the plane. Improved communication from the Ethiopian Airline staff would have gone a long way to calming the situation and reassuring passengers."

Negativ: "None of the air stewardess has a smile on their face when talking to or serving passengers. I’m not sure they know how to engage with passengers in a friendly way. My entertainment screen wasn’t working. After resetting, it took them an hour to inform me that I could move to another seat if I wanted to, as they couldn’t resolve the problem with the screen. The food lacked in flavour and the sausage served for breakfast was undercooked."

Positiv: "I went for my honeymoon but ET never transported my luggage. I had to spend my honeymoon buying very expensive clothes and basic needs in Mauritius instead of relaxing. My luggage never came. I got it on my way back to Bamako. Nobody was even able to even trace my luggage or respond professionally on the phone. Out of hundreds of calls I made to them, they only picked up twice. ET screwed my honeymoon that I had planned for over a year. I'm so dissapointed that I don'y even want to claim reimbursement."

They fed us and had in flight entertainment. This was a 10 hour flight, so its so important to get these types of amenities. I flew a different airline to my destination, and they didn't feed us at all! It was terrible! Ethiopian was much better!"

On a 10 hour flight you can't sit the whole time. Wish the seats were a little wider, especially for such long flights."

Negativ: "The staff was rude, the boarding was a mess, the cabin was at least a little cooler than previous flight but still very uncomfortable, the amount of announcements was absolutely absurd!!! It was almost an announcement every 15 minutes. And the plane played music (terrible music) for 45 min extremely loud after taking off AND and hour before landing. It was so awful and so loud you couldn't even hear your own entertainment playing from your own headsets. I understand music while boarding and de-planing but there is absolutely no reason to have that playing that long after take off and hat soon before landing."
