Positiv: "I traveled with my wife and twin sons who turned two last month. It was our first time to fly with the boys, and we were nervous about the flight for this reason. Thanks to ANA's staff both on the ground and in the air, everything went very smoothly. When we arrived at Haneda Airport (around 1:30pm), we went to the Special Assistance counter to get a stroller. The staff was friendly and patient, and didn't rush us at all. (It took a little while to get our things in order.) I was surprised to learn that we could check in from there, drop off our checked luggage and receive boarding passes, as well as an airport stroller. In addition, the boy who was awake at the time received an ANA airplane clip. We didn't get to the gate in time for pre-boarding. I was dismayed to find out that we'd have to take a bus to the aircraft. We had the maximum number of carry-on bags, plus two babies, only one of whom was in a carrier, and we learned that the stroller couldn't go on the bus. A gate agent brought our carry-ons onto the bus. She found priority seats for us and a place nearby to fit a bag that couldn't fit on one of our laps. On board, the cabin attendants were attentive and friendly, and gave toys to the boys. When we arrived at Hagi-Iwami Airport, two of them even carried all of our carry-on bags off the plane for us. (They also helped with our carry-on luggage upon returning to Tokyo. In fact, we had forgotten to reserve a stroller for when we deplaned, and a flight attendant tried to find one near the gate, to no avail.) When I think about all the positive experiences we had in a span of about three and a half hours, I am amazed at all the different people who helped to make our journey easier. I cannot imagine it happening in my home country or on most airlines I have flown."

So when I arrived at the Thai Airways counter to load in my bags I asked the Thai Airways representative about the missing information. His response was that he could not get into the ANA system and that I have to go to the ANA counter to ask for that information. Given that my layover in Narita was only about 45mins landing to going to the gate, I was not comfortable with not knowing if I would be on that flight or not. The Thai Airways representation at the boarding counter did help me a bit and got in touch with a guide in Narita to help me get my luggages and get to gate properly. I wanted to note that we did not arrive in Narita on time due to the high air traffic so the plane had to circle around for 15 mins. When we finally landed I had about 15 mins to get through the custom and ran to my gate. When I received my ticket I was shocked that I got a middle seat on a 13 hours flight! If I have known this earlier I would have paid for a better seat, but since I was not able to check-in online and didn't receive any info about this flight prior to boarding I was not allowed to change on this full flight. In addition, the plane ride was awful. The food was disgusting and the seat was very uncomfortable. The seat did not even recline back! I don't expect much from a short distance flight but for a 13 hour long flight, I at least expect the seat to be slightly better than sitting on a rock against a brick wall. All in all, this was a HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE I went through. The stress and the discomfort on the plane was an experience that no one should ever feel while traveling. It was an awful nightmare on an ANA flight. I would like a refund on this flight with no exceptions. Sincerely, Jessica Saesue"

Thankfully they were helpful but they mentioned the ANA SHOULD have helped me find the next available flight but the representative kept repeating it was not her job. Finally she looked and said there were no available flights and tried to push me to buy another ticket through another company. My ticketing agent helped after she heard what happened and rebooked my flight for the next day. Hopefully everything goes smoothly but ANA staff at Gimpo were a bit of a nightmare to deal with"

Food: Chicken with peppers average, no good taste Drinks: had to broken cups, one on the top (changed that), one at the bottom with a hole in it. Red wine spilled all over my trousers and pullover. Shit happens, but (a) what about the quality of the goods and (b) how does the crew handle this? Crew/Service: Generally friendly, but the guy who served the red wine had no clue how to handle this: 1. Red wine on cloth is bad to clean 2. After I complained about a possible problem with cleaning and the possibility that the stain would stay, no reaction, only sortiere and the Recommendation from him was to use soda water which was actually not at hand and took him more then 10min to bring it. 3. I requested for the supervisor. She was very friendly and took my email address to write a report on this. I am now waiting for reaction and possible refund for cleaning or more. Another drink was offered but that was all until now. So I am curious about the reaction from Emirates. Overall it seemed like Emirates has a bad standing in BKK: - Bus boarding on B777 - No clear information about gate - Bad quality of material (cups) - For Emirates under average food quality Additional remark: The following connection flight from DXB to DUS, was very good, overall quality as expected from Emirates, food and staff was very good. So the above review from BKK -> DXB might have been an exception."

Negativ: "Before I start my complaint I would like to say that my family and I had 6 emirates flights this year and 5 of those flights were very good and we thoroughly enjoyed our traveling with emirates but this 1 flight came out to be the worst flight of my life. I made online check-in and chose our seats and all was successful but when we reached the airport and I opened my app, it displayed that online boarding pass was not available. After moving slowly in a long queue, when I reached near boarding counters, an official checked my name in a list and informed that there was some new tax applied on us and thus I had to visit counter 5 or 6 to pay that tax. We joined the queue of counter 5 but it was not moving at all and I noticed some people being served at counter 5 who were not in the queue, thinking that counter 5 might take longer, I joined counter 6 queue where there were only 1 family and 1 passenger ahead of me, for next half hour we stood there but that queue didn't move. Finally after some time another counter called me, he confirmed that I had made online check-in. We were given boarding passes and were asked to wait for tax processing, After another 15min, we were given all papers and were requested to move to the immigration counter. After immigration when we were going through final security check, the emirates official asked me to hurry up, I showed him that the security process was going on in front of him, upon that he asked why I was late to airport, I informed him that I made online check-in and I was required to be there 90min before the flight but I was there 150min before the flight and it was in front of him how long the tax processing took, upon that he said that I should have been at the boarding counter 240min before the flight and that I should be aware of the facilities at the airport (although it was my 1st time there). I had not made any complaint on what had happened so far to anyone and I was not rude to anyone although I was with my wife and 1.5 years old son who was crying coz of warn weather and thirst, we couldn't provide him with water coz we were standing in queues all the time. But hearing such comments from Emirates official were quite unbearable but still I stayed calm and reached at the gate. When I handed over the boarding passes, I was told that my boarding pass was missing and I was quickly blamed by emirates officials that either I reached there without a boarding pass or I had lost it. When they checked in their system it showed that I was already boarded, I understood that they gave my boarding pass to someone else but they kept on saying that I had lost it and also informed the same to plane crew, then they made a manual boarding pass for me and let me pass the gate. We were the last passengers to enter the plane. When I reached at my seat, there was someone else sitting there, upon taking attendant's help, it was discovered that the passenger sitting there had my boarding pass."
