There were no choices for the food. Only a vegetarian meal. The flight crew were very friendly and helpful but the food choices need to be improved.

Like: The flight attendants Do better: be on time. You informed us of a 25 minute delay…..that turned into over an our….probable cause - under staffed baggage handling to load the plane. In Newark we waited in excess of 30 minutes to see our luggage so we could transfer to our next domestic connection. Result - missed connection. Probable cause - under staffed or poorly functioning baggage handling.

Negativ: "SARS-CoV-2 und Abstandsgebot gibt es für LH nicht!? Biz mit nur 1 PAX bis Row 6, Eco bis Row 10 alle Reihen unbesetzt (Trimmung). Dahinter die Rows dicht besetzt, teilweise 2x2 im ohnehin schon eng bestuhlten CRJ. Bei Ankunft Busposition mit nur 1 Bus (Abstand im Bus??)."
Negativ: "Hygieneplan scheint nicht vorhanden zu sein. Boarding ohne Abstand und aussteigen unter chaotischen Zuständen. Reihen werden zum Ausstieg aufgerufen, obwohl der Gang noch völlig blockiert ist mit anderen Passagieren. Anti Covid-19-Maßnahmen scheinen hier noch ein Fremdwort zu sein. Sehr enttäuschend und beängstigend. Andere Airlines (Swiss) sorgen für ein besseres Sicherheitsgefühl."

Negativ: "The seats should be fixed to prevent them from going back as far as they do. With space so small as it is, it is unnecessary to have them go back so far if at all. The food was poor, especially the cold egg and pepper sandwich at the end. My guess is that they were suppose to be heated which would have made them much better but the crew decided to give them out cold."

Das Boarding dauert schließlich auch unendlich lange/ Maschine war komplett ausgebucht. Besser wäre gewesen, von hinten nach vorne die Maschine zu füllen, nicht kreuz und quer durcheinander, bis jeder dann sein Gepäck verstaut hat - das kostete zusätzlich Zeit."

Gate number was available at the last hour or so, which then got changed. Not just this flight. many flocks of people were running around to find their new gate... also as I mentioned climbing several stories of stairs with carry-on isn't fun! Not on this flight, but on my initial departure from US to FRA, monitors said go to Gate B. I got in line for Gate B as there was some security check, then we were told there was another B?!@ We had to go down and take the bus for that...written.. No where!"

The flight attendants were knowledgeable and informative. Our incoming flight was delayed due to snow and ice. Once we were aboard the flight from Denver to Detroit, the pilot informed us that we needed to go to de-icing prior to lift off. He led us to believe that it would only delay our trip by 10-15 minutes. We sat on tarmac for one hour prior to lift off. I definitely appreciate the safety process of de-icing but I wish the pilot had given a more realistic estimate of time of departure.

Es lag also auf der Hand, dass sehr viele Fluggäste deutsch als ihre Muttersprache haben. Das störte die Flugbegleiterin aber nicht. Sie sprach ein so schnelles und undeutliches Englisch, dass sie nicht bis gar nicht zu verstehen war."
Positiv: "The flight boarded quickly and even though we were at the back of the line there was still overhead bin space for our carry on luggage. The in-flight entertainment worked well on our iPads (no need to rent one) and the stewards always had smiles on their faces. The flight left on time and landed a few minutes early which is a bonus when you are on vacation."

Positiv: "Walking past the Turkish Airlines desk in Dulles and knowing I would NEVER have to interact with these monsters again."
Negativ: "I am an experienced traveler. I've been to 17 countries and have flown over a million miles in both business and coach. My wife encountered a problem in Istanbul that involved an airport transit visa through Canada. I am certain that any other airline we’ve ever flown would’ve assisted us, since it was easily resolved. To Turkish Airlines, this is simply a part of their business model and a chance to make more money. It took about 8 hours of our time at 5 different airport locations to eventually buy new tickets to get back the next day. Our original tickets say: “REISSUE With 200.00 USD penalty. What I didn’t see was the fine print at the bottom: “Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change rules regarding ticket changes and refunds.”. They mean it. As bad as our personal experience was, the real reason we are so appalled is that we were there long enough to see this is the norm for them. In our single day there, we saw at least 100 other travelers going through similar things. The ONLY solution ever offered is to purchase another ticket. We witnessed several people weeping. Many losing control and shouting. Their own personnel were screaming at customers (in a separate office area though, it was all yucks and laughing). These were people of all nationalities. Africans, Asians, Europeans. We were lucky because we had the means to purchase new tickets. Others clearly didn’t. I really don’t know what happened to some of them. One moment was very symbolic of the entire experience. Another vanquished traveler was paying $843 for a new ticket with cash. He handed her $845 but she, of course, had no change. Instead of the $5, he gave her two $1 bills. I had one in my pocket so gave it to her as well. She held my $1 bill up and pointed to the corner which had a very small piece torn off…no ink was missing…and sneered “I can’t accept this. She did this simply because she could. We were powerless. She knew it and reveled in it."

Essen hat Geld gekostet - nicht gut. United Airlines hat zwar auch essen Gegen Geld angeboten, aber hat mindestens 3 Mal von sich auch Getränke angeboten. Also von sich aus."

They cancelled my flight at the last minute, then escorted all passengers out of the gate, told us to go through customs then pick up our luggage. And said we had to call to arrange another flight, but the phones just left a message saying to call back in a few days. I was stranded with no phone, no hotel, and no flight home. Three days later, I still cannot get in touch with them."

Also when we landed in Edmonton we circled their airport for half an hour then finally landed and we were stuck on the Tarmac for additional 45 min while we waited to get towed to our terminal. All in all terrible first time flying with air Canada and will never do it again. West jet flight I took to my destitnation was awesome"

I was very surprised that there were so many issues with timeliness on AC flights. In our outbound to Athens, two of the three flights left late, and they had to rebook part of our trip to accommodate. And the return trip was more of the same. I expected AC to be world-class and it was more like a regional airline in terms of performance."

Negativ: "I've never been on a transatlantic flight that didn't offer a drink with dinner. Plus, not having a TV screen for passenger's entertainment is out dated. Time to upgrade these planes, or don't use them for long haul flights"

Negativ: "Very rude staff, my flight from Dublin was delayed for three hours on the runway why they fix the leak for the restrooms. Once we landed I had to clear customs in Canada and get to the new flight. They told me when I finally had to make through the airport and through customs that I need to manage my time better and understand and give myself plenty of time to make the flight.. REALLY??? It wasn't my fault that their crappy plane wasn't working right wasn't my fault we were delayed but I need to manage my time better I think they fell and bumped their head!!"
Negativ: "I will never fly Air Canada between Detroit and Toronto again. Both ways the crew looked exhausted and like they were rather be anyplace but working our flight. Both times they took our carry ons without giving us a choice. For our flight out this was a stressful nuisance because we had to catch a connecting overseas flight. This involved my husband and son going to baggage claim and then having to go back through customs and TSA. The whole point of carry ons is to avoid this. Luckily we didn't miss our international flight but not a good way to begin a trip of a lifetime. Flight was completely uncomfortable and it seemed like no one cared. Should have driven"
Positiv: "Since we arrived at the airport very early we asked about whether we could change to an earlier flight. The agent was extremely accommodating and confirmed us on an earlier flight with no additional charge. Bravo Air Canada!"

Negativ: "The flight attendants were not very polite. One of them spilled one of the dinners right next to me and hardly cleaned it up. I waited for her to come back to clean it but a few hours later, I just cleaned it myself (even though she spilled all of it)."

I am curious to see whether I will get compensated for the missed hotel accommodations in Amsterdam. Keeping my fingers crossed. All to say, my last trip with Air Canada."
Negativ: "Have you heard of an International flight without entertainment? That's just the surface. Our flight from Athens to Toronto was delayed 4hrs causing us to miss our connection to NYC. When customer service was called for assistance to get another flight, we found there were no flights out after 8 pm. I appreciate the vouchers for food and hotel. But after 35hr of traveling to NYC we come to find that our luggage was left in Toronto. Traveling with Air Canada was a series of poor customer care and negligence. I was very disappointed."

Positiv: "Easy upgrade to a seat with more room without a crazy up charge, super friendly and accommodating staff (both at gate and on flight), smooth ride from start to finish, and very quick turnover to board us after a late arrival plane. All in all, a comfortable experience!!"
Positiv: "I liked nothing, the flight was delayed 3 1/2 hours and was notified when I arrived 2 hrs before flight . The Airlines were not helpful at all. Then when I got to my seat on this late 3 1/2 hour delay my seat was broken and uncomfortable for the rest of the flight which was three hours."
