I stood in line in Frankfurt for one and a half hours to get boarding pass and check bag, couldn’t get the boarding pass online ahead of time. Stood in line for 45 minutes to get through passport control, and 20 minutes for security. On board they said they were on time but we waited an hour to leave. The crew fed us rather promptly but then waited another 6 hours to give us a sandwich before landing. No trash was gathered throughout the flight.

Angenehmer Flug, sympathische Crew

Like: The flight attendants Do better: be on time. You informed us of a 25 minute delay…..that turned into over an our….probable cause - under staffed baggage handling to load the plane. In Newark we waited in excess of 30 minutes to see our luggage so we could transfer to our next domestic connection. Result - missed connection. Probable cause - under staffed or poorly functioning baggage handling.

Negativ: "Ummm, THAT was "business class"? Same seats as economy, with middle seat blocked off. Limited recline, no entertainment, no comfort seats. Nice meal, nice drinks, nice service...but I'm a little stunned that a European airline would call this kind of seating "business class". Only thing that separated it from economy class was a curtain, and middle seats blocked off."

Negativ: "The seats should be fixed to prevent them from going back as far as they do. With space so small as it is, it is unnecessary to have them go back so far if at all. The food was poor, especially the cold egg and pepper sandwich at the end. My guess is that they were suppose to be heated which would have made them much better but the crew decided to give them out cold."

+ Es war ein angenehmer Flug trotz Verspätung. - Die Toiletten waren gehen Ende des Fluges absolut ekelerregend aufgrund von Unfähigkeit mancher Fluggäste anständig auf die Toilette zu gehen.

Es lag also auf der Hand, dass sehr viele Fluggäste deutsch als ihre Muttersprache haben. Das störte die Flugbegleiterin aber nicht. Sie sprach ein so schnelles und undeutliches Englisch, dass sie nicht bis gar nicht zu verstehen war."

Negativ: "The young child that screamed for the first two hours of the flight. The man in the seat behind me that coughed loudly constantly for 5.5 hours. No sleep on an overnight flight. Gluten free options not available for me and my wife. We tried to book these before the flight but we're not allowed access for this. Flight entertainment system froze and had to be reset, resulting in blank screens for the first 30 minutes or so."

Negativ: "Boarding was a disorganized free-for-all. Complete chaos and the gate staff seemed unable to manage the situation. The plane itself was an aged 767 with uncomfortable, cramped seats and no entertainment options whatsoever. Haven't taken an international flight this bad in years. Entire cabin smelled like the lavatories for the duration of the flight."

Essen hat Geld gekostet - nicht gut. United Airlines hat zwar auch essen Gegen Geld angeboten, aber hat mindestens 3 Mal von sich auch Getränke angeboten. Also von sich aus."

Negativ: "My flight was cancelled and rebooked for the following day with the same itinerary, which would have defeated the purpose of going on my trip (a wedding). I called and Air Canada put me on a same day flight on Delta. That flip was delayed, and I would have missed my connection. Finally, I was rebooked again, but didn't get in until several hours later than I would have gotten in."
Positiv: "Their sympathy for our atrocious wait was, free pop and water, and some pretzels. $30 meal vouchers at the limited options gate area, which could only be used towards a meal (really? no where else?). Here's a were sorry email and a discount on your next flight with us. I have yet to see how much the significant cost for that discount but my expectations of Air Canada are very low."
Negativ: "That delay was horrendous, I spent 10 hours at an airport. I woke up so god damn early to get there because of news spreading the worries of people waiting at customs immigration to the U.S. it only took us 40min to get through and the flight delay notice was given an hour and a half before departure. We couldn't even sleep on any benches because they were all designed for individuals to sit. It wasn't until our gate location moved to the end of that area was there any carpeted floor space to sleep on. On the flight, economy seating was very tight with limited leg room, and best of all our seats had no window, literally every other row in our section had a window. Air Canada handled this stressful event very poorly, once they figured out bringing a new air craft hours later, and everyone moved to the new gate area, all the attendants had left from their gate post until 40min before the flight which was hours later."

Dinner was mediocre but at least some was available, which I didn't expect on an overnight flight starting after dark. ("Breakfast" was a slice of really tasty banana bread but nothing else.) I really appreciated the presence of outlets and USB ports for charging electronic devices, and that the seats had adjustable headrest flaps. These are essential features on long flights!"
Negativ: "It's almost impossible to sleep in economy class seats, even with the adjustable headrests. I recognize that economy is supposed to be the "no frills" class of travel but sleep is not a luxury. Sleep is a basic human need, like food and oxygen. I don't actually believe that offering better accommodations for everyday passengers (off whom the bulk of airline profits are made) is financially unfeasible or unreasonable."

It was the Gulag! I can't imagine it being worse for them. On a short domestic flight, it may be tolerable, but for a long international flight across the pond, it was a nightmare! Also, please stop serving those hot pockets as a snack and please stop charging for potato chips and snacks unless you plan to serve a substantial meal! A 400 calorie meal is not going to keep anyone satisfied for 10 hours!"

Negativ: "Plane could have been slightly cleaner (eg replace old, ratty in-flight magazines). Food was reasonable but a bit bland."

Negativ: "Initial plane had mechanical problem before we boarded, so we were delayed and sent to a different gate. Delays became incrementally longer, announcements were not as quick as they should have been -- e.g. I learned of the gate change from another passenger rather than the crew at the gate. Then, the flight we did catch was delayed in the air due to congestion at LaGuardia. AC was too cold for me. Admittedly some of these problems were well outside Air Canada's control, but the communication weaknesses were their fault."
Negativ: "Flight departing Toronto to Amsterdam was cancelled without adequate compensation. Flight was supposed to depart at 8:45. Was delayed repeatedly then cancelled at 11pm. Air canada wasn't able to get us a hotel voucher until 1:45 am and hotel check in at 2 am. Complete disruption of travel plans. Customer service at Toronto airport was terrible."

There wasn't enough room for me to reach my bag that was on the ground even when the seat in front of me wasn't reclined. And the people next to me kept jabbing me with their elbows because three grown adults simply could not sit next to one another in such a small space. I'm a small person so if I feel crammed on a flight I have no idea how the average person can tolerate it!"
