Boarding war Chaos

Really disturbing that only 2-3 people were masking in a flight full of maybe 80 passengers. The flight itself was okay.

Gepäck kam leider nicht an und wir wurden erts nach langem warten informiert. Swissport team hat aber einen fantastischen Job gemacht und unsere Lost&Found Formulare mit uns ausgefüllt.

Everything was very good, with the exception of the amount of food/snacks we were provided. This flight was 10 hours long, plus we sat on the tarmac for almost two hours for the de-icing (no complaints about that). And during all this time we were given one hot meal, which was a good quality. Plenty of drinks and water. But after that - no snacks and no food until about two hours prior to landing. And then it was only a cold sandwich. They stated after boarding that 'service was going to be limited' during Covid restrictions. We can understand that, but we should have been notified before boarding or the airline should have found the way to distribute some packaged food/snacks during boarding, to limit crew's interaction times. Instead, we were not prepared to be starving on a transatlantic flight! We've flown many time before, but this was the first time we were literally hungry. And we had no food with us, because you are not allowed to bring any food into US.

I expected a better flight. The food was very poor. The aircraft was too warm

Final leg of our long journey was from ORD to AUS and it was good

Like: The flight attendants Do better: be on time. You informed us of a 25 minute delay…..that turned into over an our….probable cause - under staffed baggage handling to load the plane. In Newark we waited in excess of 30 minutes to see our luggage so we could transfer to our next domestic connection. Result - missed connection. Probable cause - under staffed or poorly functioning baggage handling.

The meals are full of bread, pasta, starch, tortilla with brownie, cookies, and candy bar snacks. Would appreciate more vegetables, fruit, and protein. I couldn't get my headphones to work. Otherwise the flight and attendants were great. Thank you!

Very late. Is Air Canada ever on time?

+ Es war ein angenehmer Flug trotz Verspätung. - Die Toiletten waren gehen Ende des Fluges absolut ekelerregend aufgrund von Unfähigkeit mancher Fluggäste anständig auf die Toilette zu gehen.

Es lag also auf der Hand, dass sehr viele Fluggäste deutsch als ihre Muttersprache haben. Das störte die Flugbegleiterin aber nicht. Sie sprach ein so schnelles und undeutliches Englisch, dass sie nicht bis gar nicht zu verstehen war."

They blamed it all on weather, which is fair, but it's almost like their attitude was "hey, we're leaving late already (arriving at 3 am at my final destination), so we might as well not try to have good service since you'll already have a bad memory of this flight!" That being said, I would still take Air Canada in cases such as these where they are $400 cheaper than the competition. I'd still rather have a terrible flight and save $400 at this point in my life!"

I understand this is common practice, but the employees handled it VERY poorly, even yelling at the passengers when they voiced their dismay at what was going to be a very long layover after a very long international flight."

Positiv: "The one good thing about this flight was it wasn't fully booked, so I managed to get an entire row to myself, that and the food wasn't bad, and movie selection was alright."
Negativ: "There were major delays taking off, and landing. I was supposed to have about a 3 hour layover in Toronto, due to multiple delays, flight plan changes, and mechanical failures I ended up getting booted from the 2nd leg of the flight, and having to spend an unanticipated night in Toronto. To begin, my 3pm flight from Seoul to Toronto was delayed to 6pm (the day before the flight was even scheduled, and for no apparent reason.) I wasn't even notified of this change, the only reason I found out was I tried checking in online the afternoon of the day before my flight (only because I remembered to do so myself, never received a check in reminder notice) and found out of the change. So my connecting flight had been bumped, and my ETA to my destination changed. This wasn't terrible, just an annoyance. Second, the flight was stuck at the departure gate for over an our. I'm not 100% sure why, however, after delay after delay, and then a flight plan change, we finally took off over an hour late, this too was was an annoyance, an nothing notable. It wasn't until we landed, where we were delayed on the tarmac for yet over another hour, due to mechanical issues that was the problem. We were stuck for about an hour (the pilot promising we'd be moving in "just 5 minutes", every 10-15 minutes) before the pilot decided to order buses to unload us, to then turn them away once they arrived so that way we could get towed to the gate. It then took an additional 40 minutes for the plane to get hitched, and towed to the gate. Once we arrived at the gate, I tried running through the airport to catch my connecting flight (which I had 10 minutes till boarding, and 40 minutes till departure) only to find out that I had been bumped from my connecting flight (despite having no checked baggage) and would have to stay the night in Toronto. Apparently this is not a rare occurrence for Air Canada to screw up flights. There were other people both on other original fights, as well as mine who were bumped from their connecting flights to various destinations, as well as having lost luggage. Again, individually these weren't exactly huge issues, collectively, they're the reason this has probably been my first and last time flying Air Canada."

Negativ: "Being in the middle seat in the middle row was not very comfortable. The 767 maybe should be used on shorter flights."

Negativ: "My luggage did not arrived until 4 days in to my trip. I was told that some of my luggage ended up in China. It messed up the wedding ceremony that I went for. Gifts that I bought all got broken, the bag all torn. Air Canada refuse to upgrade my flight as a compensation. All their representatives did not help or provide any support. Other than stating "we are sorry". I and my family and friends will never fly with air Canada again."

Negativ: "I was held aside at the customs area and had a difficult time figuring out what was going on. Signage was less than helpful, and staff were unaware of why I was being held. After over 30 minutes during which the gate staff could only tell me to wait and watch for my initials on the electronic board, the staff learned that some bags on my arrival flight had been accidentally diverted to Canadian customs rather than US customs, and passengers could not proceed to connecting flights until our bags were located. The customer service staff then worked very hard on our problem. I was instructed to re-book my flight, since by now the doors were about to close - but that customer service person could not re-book me, and I had to queue up again for another agent. When I got to the desk, that agent was able to get me approved to board my flight sans bag, ran me to the front of the Immigration line, and got me to my gate in time to board. I deeply appreciate her assistance, as my family was already on the plane."
Negativ: "After crossing in a 787 from Zurich this small older jet to Austin looked and felt like 15 years ago. Bathroom was bad for a 6'2" guy."
Positiv: "Crew is quite young and friendly.. good service. Boarding was quick and easy. Blanket and neck pillow package were comfy and worth the $7"

Negativ: "previous flight was late so we had to be rebooked. The line was insane with 3 agents. The 3rd said go to the other 2 lines. The second went on break leaving one agent. A manager came down and gave the sorry here is our corporate email speech to two girls in line but left without acknowledging all the rest of us waiting. It was a mess. When I got my ticket she was like here you go without explaining anything or a sorry. When I asked for a few details like am I in a hotel overnight or when do I leave she gave me an eye roll. When I got to the plane after traveling all day and waiting extra hours there was an empty row right in front of me. I tried to lay down but the attendant made me move because I hadn't booked comfort plus even though the flight I booked I would have been in Denver hours ago. Things happen but it's all how you deal with it and air canada does not deal well."
Negativ: "It was late by an hour and I missed my connection. My flight on the way out we sat on the plane an hour and a half. Once the connection was missed they didn't handle things smoothly at all. I could write a book but it will just get me worked up again."
