This is something we do every flight we take with no issue, but despite the gate agent confirming that the items would meet us on the jetway, when we landed, we were informed that we would need to pick them up in baggage claim. This meant that instead of having our infant sleeping in his car seat as we spent an hour + going through customs, we had to carry a crying baby around the entire time. In addition to the fact that we asked the gate agent told us the wrong thing, instead of being handled with care, the stroller and car seat were sent down the baggage claim carousel with all of the other bags, getting banged up. This was incredibly frustrating and a terrible customer service experience."

Although I had 2 Rolla boards I had to push her the full distance to Immigration and Customs. Our bags were sitting on a stationary baggage conveyor, the last from our American Airline flight. It wasn't until we're were ready to leave Customs that 4 people from "Prospect" asked if they could help, saying that they were SORRY!! They had just been standing around. A year ago I had the exact same thing happen to me from gate M1 and my wife had to push me the full distance. BTW, I 'm 71 and my wife is 68."

Negativ: "the good service at the check in and on the plane, or the great entertainment service, are all shadowed by Air Canada service for families with babies. We live in Vancouver and use frequently either Air canada or British Airways. We have a 1 year old baby, and on BA we automatically receive family seats for no extra charge, which have extra leg room and option for a bassinet. even with a 1 year old baby they have a special seat for that age, instead of a bassinet which fits only new born babies, so our 1 year old baby could sleep in a chair for hours on BA flight we just took from London to Tel Aviv. we got to London on a AC flight from Vancouver, where we weren't given family seats unless we paid more, so we had to spend 9.5 hours with a 1 YO baby at our lap, the baby of course was miserable, so we were miserable, but not just us, everyone in our vicinity had to suffer the baby's crying. On the BA flight the baby could sleep in a special chair for older babies, placed where usually a bassinet is placed, or sit on the floor next to our legs (because there's so much more leg room in the family seats), something the 1 YO babies need very much. I will recommend anyone with a baby to never fly with AC, especially when you have great alternatives like BA."

When I bought tickets with Air Canada, I expected to fly with Air Canada, not United. I don't know how it's even legal for you to sell me one thing, have me pay for it, and then give me another. My experiences with Air Canada have been fine. My experience with United was terrible. Their check in devices freeze and don't give proper instructions or feedback, and my tray table was taped shut because it was broken. The tape looked like it was a year old. It is not ok to fix an airplane with tape. This is terrible for both of us. Now you - Air Canada - are sharing in United's PR disaster because you've effectively said buying tickets from you might just be a bait-and-switch for buying tickets with them. Upon purchasing tickets "your" customers have no way of knowing what they're going to get. I'd much rather book with an airline that sells tickets for its own flights, or at least tells customers when they're buying something else instead of lying to them."

I spent a freezing night at the gate blasted by a/c and vitriolic CNN in extreme discomfort waiting for my early morning flight. (Security ziplocked my bag and I was unable to access a sweater). Nightmare!"
