Positiv: "Flight was late leaving JFK. I paid extra for Comfort Plus and had the most uncomfortable seat ever. My back ached during and after the flight. Absolutely the worst seat ever that I have had flying. While it was a short flight we were supposed to get serviced during the flight, but there was no cabin service unless you were in 1st class. So much for the perks of Comfort Plus as there were none. Not even a glass of water. Wow! When we landed late obviously because we left late we were late and there was no ground crew to get our plane to the gate so we sat for over 1/2 hour on the taxi way waiting for ground crew to be available for us to get to the gate. To add insult of injury when we did get to go to the gate there was no gate available for use so we had to deplane in the rain down the emergency stairs. They said that if you had a problem with the steep stairs that they would make other accommodations. Probably would have been another delay so we all carefully went down the steep slippery stairs. I doubt that the stairs met any OHSA or safety requirements except for emergency issues. They were wet and slippery. This was the absolute worst trip that I have taken with Delta. It will seriously influence my future trip decisions."

Positiv: "The flight started with a visit in the recently renovated KLM crown lounge in Amsterdam airport. I liked the various seating options and of course the upstairs bar. The service on board was attentive and efficient, the food options I really liked (especially the Chinese dish) but also the little touches like the nuts & gouda cheese which were served in small porcelain bowls. The seat itself was very comfortable when sitting and the structure gives a lot of privacy. However for couples or friends travelling it's a bit cumbersome to have a conversation even when sitting in seats next to each other. Overall my expectations were fulfilled."
Negativ: "This seat is not ideal for sleeping for taller persons (I'm 185cm tall) as the space to put the feet is very narrow and it's uncomfortable when lying on the back (as one cannot put them in the natural resting position). Cabin temperature could have been a bit lower for my taste. Crew needs better training with regards to transfer procedure in Chengdu."

Positiv: "On both of my flights to New York City, I was amazed at how friendly and helpful the flight attendants were to the passengers. On my short flight from Basel to Amsterdam, a young French speaking girl was concerned about how to manage getting to her next gate. The flight attendants talked to her and arranged for someone to take her there. On my longer flight from Amsterdam to New York City, there was a customer who was in distress about missing a previous flight and not making it to her connecting flight in New York. One of the flight attendants reassured her until she stopped crying and calmed down. That same flight attendant was always so positive and cheerful in all she did. The rest of the crew was top notch. This was my best experience flying in such a long time. Well done, KLM crews of flights 1984 and 0645 on July 10!"

In addition the crew "aged out" so we had to get a second crew - waited for that. the first plane had a mechanical, the second plane had a mechanical - more lengthy delays then finally the last plane was fine - but was again delayed by yet another hour for a total of 7 hours delay. Our compensation? Non existent."

Negativ: "The gate was changed 1hr prior to boarding despite the arriving plane having landed 3hrs prior. So with stroller and infant in toe, I had to run to change terminals/buildings. There was no assistance or prior warning regarding this from the check in staff and I made it all the way to the original terminal and gate before having to turn around. The desk staff at the gate was asked about early boarding for infants and said it would be okay but didn’t give clear instructions on boarding so I sat down and they began boarding each group 20 minutes later and did not give priority to mother’s with infants. The stroller which I brought to the gate was then tagged incorrectly with a white tag instead of a pink tag. I was later told by he crew that it meant it would go directly to baggage claim instead of being brought to the door. According to the crew, all staff know to tag with a pink tag. At every step there was blatant display of inconsideration that made an already difficulty journey, that much more challenging."

Positiv: "The United flight had a great entertainment package (movies, tv shows, etc). The flight attendant who sat in front of us was awesome,and fun to talk to. She gave us some great tips about things to do while in Athens. The food was good (for airline food)."
Negativ: "The flight from Newark to Athens was interesting. The flight changed gates at the last minute. The plane was towed to the new gate, then we found out that it was going to be delayed an additional hour due to required maintenance checks. Actually, I don't mind the additional maintenance checks, I want to arrive alive! We arrived in Athens 90 minutes after our expected time. We got seats in the exit row, however, we couldn't really enjoy the extra legroom for 2 reasons: 1) The exit hatch was right in front of my girlfriend who was sitting near the window. She couldn't extend her feet without kicking the door (I big no-no at 35,000 feet). 2) Our row was right in front of the bathrooms, so I had constant traffic bumping me in left shoulder and lines of people literally standing in front of me for the majority of the flight while waiting for their turn to use the bathroom. They are stepping on my feet constantly or passing gas in my face (I wish I was kidding)."

Negativ: "When boarding, the agent said we had to check our rollaboards because they were our of overhead bin space. Hen we entered the plane, we saw that the entire back half of the plane had empty bins, but by that time it was too last to retrieve our bags."

Negativ: "The airline said that it needed to take on additional fuel due to bad weather, which would make the plane overweight. This meant that nearly half of the passengers who bought tickets would not be able to fly. Thos made boarding stressful as they were randomly calling names. They were offering $2000 and a hotel and meals and a flight out the next morning. However I did not have flexible travel plans and the stress of hoping to be allowed to board was unpleasant."

Negativ: "We kept getting delayed by 20minutes (for 4 hours) without any communications/updates from the staff as to what the problem was or when a solution might be found."

The concourse area is so crowded and noisy, and announcements are only heard in the immediate gate are, that, though I was sitting only one gate over, I did not hear the boarding calls and missed my flight. I sat in Newark airport for six hours (which included a maintenance problem, gate change and 1 more hour delay) until the departure of the next flight to Burlington."
