The real problem is that this is no sign or communications describing this. Everyone is simply stopped in the corridor and told that they cannot proceed farther until their name comes up green on a monitor. Unfortunately the monitor switches displays so frequently that it is almost impossible to read. In addition to that it seems names do not always appear on the monitor unless you get your boarding pass scanned a the desk (this is not communicated to you unless you ask why your name is not on the monitor at all). People late for connecting flights (because of inbound flight delays) are required to wait without explanation sometimes needlessly if they don't have a checked bag. A nightmare if you're trying to make your connection. In addition once you've cleared that hurdle you need to go through security again (something we were unprepared for since we were already in the secure area. You then proceed to customs and then your connecting flight (if you haven't already missed it by then). Allow lots of time to get to your connecting flight, and ask to get you boarding pass scanned at that mysterious "checked bag" stop in the corridor."

Due to this I had to wait over 4 and a half hours at the airport wheee another 350 people were waiting for accommodations. I was in the airport until 4:30 in the morning because there weren't enough air cansas representatives. In addition, they were working really slowly because they kept getting up to chat with eachother."

They booked me a flight from Toronto to Calgary but it was for the next day at 410pm on august 1st!!! I had to sleep on the airport floor and spend my whole day there instead of being home with my family I honestly would love a refund..."

It was never stated that we had booked tickets on ROUGE, their budget airline. We are avid and frequent travelers and after paying nearly $ 5.000.00 we feel ripped-off and deceived. It is particularly painful, since this trip was supposed to be special, for our 50th wedding anniversary. If Air Canada is represented by Travelocity it should at least insist that it is not misrepresented. Air Canada's reputation is worth the effort. A more appropriate name might be Air Canada Rogue. Negativ: "Air Canada Rouge operated our flight rather than Lufthansa or other similar airline. This meant that there were no tvs on board, which means the nearly 9 hour flight got very long. Boarding and check-in were also disorganized and many people from lower zones boarded before zone 1 and those with children, m among we had to stand on the ramp for a very long time holding our baby."

This left us in a panic about dealing with bed bugs. Apparently, bed bugs on planes are becoming more common place! We've contacted Air Canada via email about a week ago and are waiting to hear back from them. Furthermore, the flight to and from Tokyo did not allow much time for sleeping. The flight attendants were going up and down the aisles very often with meals/snacks, drinks, duty-free, and charity requests. I was expecting a lull after the dinner meal where they would dim the lights and limit services for a few hours, but it did not happen. While impressive how many services were available it was a bit much and would have preferred less to allow for some quiet time. Finally, the return flight from Tokyo to Toronto there was a single flight attendant who was quite rude to the other attendants as well as passengers. While boarding a lady in front of us didn't have her boarding pass when entering the plane but was with her husband. This flight attendant asked her for the pass, and she said she knew where her seat was because her husband was right in front of her and they were sitting together (at this point we had our boarding passed check 3 times before even boarding the plane). The attendant raised her voice at the lady and told her it didn't matter and that she needed the pass. Within a few minutes, she was getting after a few flight attendants for insignificant things. This behavior continued throughout the flight, very unprofessional. This was my first time flying Air Canada and I was not impressed."
Positiv: "I liked the clean cabin, decent service during meals and overall amenities offered. The plane itself was quite nice and more comfortable than most."
Negativ: "The food seemed to be quite a small portion. The chicken entree was normal size, but lacking in taste. The side was also bland in flavor but a good mix of veggies. I would have enjoyed another small snack, such as cheese and crackers or some such. The movie list was fairly good with somewhat recent items. The TV list was lacking in choices, it seemed. However, that may be the content of modern TV. Access to the toilets were often hindered by staff, especially in the rear of the cabin. We were 45 minutes late. I was already booked on a flight 5+ hours later, which was nice. However, I was given a only a food voucher of 31CHF. The amount was wonderful, but they offered this at a time when I had already eaten on the plane and was not hungry at all. I could only buy a few things to eat or take with me, and the rest of the amount was wasted. Alternatives, could have been a partial refund, a visa gift card, an upgrade on my flight back, etc."
Negativ: "I was sat next to a dementia patient who were urinating on himself and the seat all over. I endured the smell for 10 hrs. The crew gave me a mask for it. No accommodations. I did not eat or drink obviously. He had been given special accommodation or sat with a caretaker"

Negativ: "The service on my original TLV-Pearson Flight (Dec 23rd am) was not great. The staff sat in the back gossiping the entire time and looked offended every time I came to ask a question or ask for something - they would get silent and just sit there, like I was interrupting an important conversation and so I even offered to get my own stuff. Ridiculous! What happened to customer service? The food is HORRIBLE! Worst food I have ever had on a flight, and I flew to 8 countries this last year, so that says a lot. I'd recommend only eating food you bring, or just starving yourself."
Negativ: "My flight got delayed due to weather, and the second leg actually got canceled. I was placed on a later flight that would get me home at 2 am - no thanks! I tried to change it online as an email notification told me I could, but the website then told me I needed to call, which was frustrating. There was a 50 min wait and no call back option, and since I was on international calling, I figured I'd just wait until I got to the airport. The ticketing line looked relatively short, with only three people/ groups ahead of me. Yet it took 75 MINUTES for me to be helped. The people working were the slowest and most incompetent airline workers I've ever come across. I truly don't think either had a clue what they were doing. My agent didn't even know how to view my flights after I provided my passport. He asked me to look them up and read them to him. I had to find an alternative flight on my phone and specifically request to be placed on it since he didn't know how to view my options. Then, he printed me something, pointed me to another counter, and said "I think you're good, but I'm not sure. There's a chance they might refuse you. But I don't think they will." I was like, "Do I have a ticket or not?" And he couldn't give me a straight answer. By the time I left, the line had 15 people/ groups. Processed at the same rate, it'd take over 5 hours for them to be assisted. Never flying this airline again."

I've been on flights where the crew kindly gave out connection information, so this is lazy on Air Canada's part."

The space in the seats was almost criminal for an 8 hour flight. Pretty the equivalent of having people shoulder to shoulder. Impossible to try and sleep on an overnight flight. During mid flight I noticed that I had a lot of trouble breathing and thought it was just me. My wife said the same thing to me and someone on the flight needed medical assistance for oxygen. It was extremely hot the whole flight with no ability to control the air flow which made it even worse. The entertainment selection was good however the device was almost unsable because it was very laggy and it wouldn't select what you wanted. It was easily the worst experience I had and I only really went into some of the details. Having trouble breathing was by far the worst part and I couldn't believe it. My flight back was glaringly better so I'm perplexed by why this was so bad."
