Negativ: "I was asked to check my carry-on. I have used this carry-on more than 50x without an issue. I have even put it in the smaller compartments on smaller Bombardier jets. I don't have an issue with being asked to check luggage, but I resent being asked when others are allowed to take their carry-on onto to the plane without issue. Right in front of me while I was waiting for a baggage tag, others were being checked in with carry-on equal to mine and allowed to take it onto the plane. I can only surmise that my ticket limited me to one bag onto the plane, although they would not tell me this. This was not clear when I booked the ticket nor when I checked in on-line. I had a 40 minute connection in Zurich so was very concerned that my luggage would not make it. Luckily, it did make it to my next stop. Swiss Air seems to have different restrictions than other airlines which I have encountered before. I take ownership that I should be aware of a tickets restrictions but this was a multi-leg trip (5). However, I will tend to avoid Swiss air in the future, to avoid having to research their unique restrictions."

We had to take a bus from the plane to the terminal, go through immigration with very long lines, take a tram to our departure terminal and then run to our gate which was at the end of a very long hallway. Luckily they held the plane but it was very stressful and exhausting getting to our plane."

Positiv: "This is how my trip started that day. Missed my checkin window by 10 mins do to waiting in traffic for 45 mins, because of wreck. Got to the ticket counter at 8:35 and my flight my was set to take of at 9:30. There wear others in the same boat as me, we where all flying with American. I will Never ever fly with American again! The Lady was so rude then she said we were disgrutle when we ask to speak to a manger about trying to board even though or flight didnt leave until 9:30. Not Military Friendly at all. So I ran down to Lufthansa and talk with a guy at the ticket counter that was understanding of the sistuation, he told me what to do once a Book my trip through Kayak he checked me in and got me right to the front and on the plane for the next flight that left 2 hours after my missed flight. I book my trip and got through Tsa all before my flight with american even took off. When I boared the plane the cabin crew was very helpful and laughing and joking with the passagners their smiles brighten my day and made me feel at easy. I was stressed out about missing my flight with American Airlines and that lady at the ticket counter that when on got my flight with Lufthanse I felt like they were my friends and that I have been flying with them before. I will always use Lufthansa when fliying back home back to the states! Thank you to flight crew and men and women at the ticket counters!!"

Über die Verzögerung wurden die Gäste erst durch eine SMS informiert. Es dauerte dann ca. 30 Minuten bis die Dame am Gate sich eine erste kurze Ansage abgerungen hat. Das Boarding dauert schließlich auch unendlich lange/ Maschine war komplett ausgebucht. Besser wäre gewesen, von hinten nach vorne die Maschine zu füllen, nicht kreuz und quer durcheinander, bis jeder dann sein Gepäck verstaut hat - das kostete zusätzlich Zeit."

Gestartet ist die Maschiene dann um 22:05 Uhr. Die Kommunikation war sehr schlecht, das Bodenpersonal schloss bis zuletzt keine Annulierung aus."

At airport HAJ I've heard that's usual that baggage can't arrive in one our! So I didn't understand why this flight was offered by KLM!"

Bordpersonal war sagen wir mal nicht unfreundlich, mehr aber auch nicht. Höflich, zuvorkommend und aufmerksam ist anders. Der Flug ging von Berlin. Es lag also auf der Hand, dass sehr viele Fluggäste deutsch als ihre Muttersprache haben. Das störte die Flugbegleiterin aber nicht. Sie sprach ein so schnelles und undeutliches Englisch, dass sie nicht bis gar nicht zu verstehen war."

Negativ: "The plane are old. The over head bends are smaller than any plane built recently. The enteratianment system has issues and the headphone noise comes out blurred (I overheard other people having the same problem), the staff is rude, the food was awful, and I was late arriving on both flights (we never left on time)."

Negativ: "It was a 787 but any or all room was taken into cramming more seats. Food was the worse I've ever had on a long distance flight. Bland and despicable. This is the worse international flight as far as room or food. Requested for an exit row seat but was told it was an additional $125 charge. Really that's how Air Canada is getting business by giving customers a very poor experience. A group of four us traveled on this trip and we had the same consensus and won't be recommending Air Canada."

Negativ: "Both myself and my other vegetarian friend never saw an option to opt into the vegetarian meal, leaving us on a super long flight across the pacific with nothing to eat."

Negativ: "They lost my luggage for eights days, haven't given me any compensation, every single flight was delayed and no seat upgrades or apologies were given. Never again."

Positiv: "Had an empty middle seat between my window seat and my friend's aisle seat which was nice on such a long flight."
Negativ: "This was my first intercontinental flight on Air Canada and I was surprised at how meager their meal and entertainment offerings were. Every other airline I've flown between North America and Asia gives bigger meals and more free entertainment to help pass the considerable flight time."

Negativ: "There was a horrid family in the row in frony of me that absolutley refused to control their child at all, even when airline staff stepped in , so a really long flight was made to seem even longer and sleeping was out of the question."

Negativ: "Klar, die Flieger werden immer enger... aber für die Umwelt ist es schon besser, wenn dafür weniger Flieger starten also beklage ich mich auch nicht so sehr drüber. Am Besten wäre es, wenn es mehr Züge gäbe für solche kurze Strecken."

Positiv: "I liked the exit row leg room. Not a big fan of the dreamliner layout, but they were very affordable."
Negativ: "There was a 12-year-old seated next to the exit door. They tried to exchange his seat with other people in the exit row, but no one agreed to it. However, there were various open seats in other rows, some with 2 empty seats side-by-side. It baffles me that he could not move to another row."

Positiv: "Plane was nice and clean. Crew was pleasant and helpful."

Negativ: "Beware that baggage check closes 1 HOUR BEFORE TAKEOFF! They failed to mention this when I purchased tickets. Also we were unable to check in online (something wrong on the website), so we didn't know our boarding info. We also had a flight that was 30mins late. When we got to the check in counter the woman wouldn't do anything for us- wouldn't hold the flight, didn't attempt to help us catch our flight. We were told we could wait 48 hours for the next available seats. We signed up for that, and also waited on standby for 24 hours at Narita. Fortunately they were able to get us on a flight within 24 hours. We were not very happy that the key information that check in closes an hour before flights was not readily available or obvious. No emails or notices that I saw when scheduling flights. Just be aware. Everything else about the flight was fine."

Positiv: "Das Boarding und die Durchführung waren super. Das Personal sprach Französisch. Nicht alles wurde auf Englisch wiederholt. Getränke wurden NUR EIN MAL angeboten. Essen hat Geld gekostet - nicht gut. United Airlines hat zwar auch essen Gegen Geld angeboten, aber hat mindestens 3 Mal von sich auch Getränke angeboten. Also von sich aus."
Negativ: "Kaum Beinfreiheit. Essen nur gehen Geld."

Positiv: "The movie options were good"
Negativ: "Why does a vegan meal include butter and cheesecake? There was clearly a mistake but it seemed like the airline attendants were unfamiliar with what a vegan diet is. It really diminishes your confidence when they pass you another meal, you have no idea what ingredients are in it and simply have the trust the people that just passed you butter."

Positiv: "The whole experience from boarding to landing was great. Zone 2 boarding is one of the first called and the premium economy section has larger seats that recline more and don't affect the person behind as much. Food was decent and serve on a ceramic plate with real silver wear. On demand entertainment was adequate with a number of recent titles and even audiobook options."
Negativ: "The section was set up in a 2-3-2 seat configuration and I booked the middle 3, but were given 2 in the middle and one one the left aisle. One of the middle seats was left open for the pilot to come back and watch movies during the flight. When I asked the attendant if we could swap the left aisle with the "pilot's" the attendant made it seem like it was a bigger deal but eventually asked the pilot who said he didn't mind. After all, it was just changing one empty seat to the other side of the aisle."

Positiv: "They had vegan options if you called ahead which was a nice and the flight crew was kind and helpful."
Negativ: "There was not enough space unless you sat in the front row."

Positiv: "I love the new Boeing 787 planes! This was the smoothest flight ever, both from Vancouver to Tokyo and back again. The new planes have the dimmable windows, which are so cool! And, each seat has it's own screen with free movies, TV, flight info, etc. Also, the flights were on time!"

Positiv: "The plane didn't crash."
Negativ: "The trip took about 48 hours. After a cancelled flight I got no hotel discount. Several flights were delayed or cancelled and in the end I ended up just going to a city 3 hours from where I live and renting a car to drive home. My luggage still hasn't arrived. This was the worst, most stressful travel experience of my life."

Positiv: "Sleep!"
Negativ: "I don't remember anything from sleeping too much."

Positiv: "The air crew was absolutely fabulous coming home. Couldn't of been nicer or kinder. Excellent work gang. Very much appreciated. This applies to Toronto to tokyo crew likewise. AC has very special people representing them. Thanks."
Negativ: "Well, food was iffy. But provided, free and good intentions. I just gave it away to grateful seat mates."

Positiv: "Crew dealt with a lot of crabby people and a lot of languages very well"

Positiv: "I flew roundtrip to Japan on Air Canada business class. Buying a ticket late, I noticed it was only $500 or so more for business class. We did have to touchdown in Canada coming and going, but short and efficient hops. On the way back, it probably saved time because we were cleared in Canada so arriving back in Philly was like a domestic flight. Great Food and service. The trip to Japan on their new Dreamliner business class featured an amazingly designed pod - super comfortable, lay flat for sleeping, But has good layout and table space if I had wanted to work on laptop. Thumbs up!"

Negativ: "Seats were uncomfortable. Food was simple and bland. I was not allowed more than 2 alcoholic drinks on a 10 hr flight -- what is that?"

Positiv: "So glad we had Your Name as a movie selection and Eagle Huntress and all those weird short films that kept me going for a long time. I also appreciated the sake."
Negativ: "Mainly that we took an extra hour by going around a volcano but I don't see how that could have been avoided."

Positiv: "The on board entertainment was phenomenal. My kids LOVED that they could connect and play games with each other. The gate agents in narita were the sweetest people I've come across in a long time."
Negativ: "Air Canada is pretty dang snobby for the most part. Im not sure when a rule was instituted that headphones can't be worn under 10000 feet, but my three children were targeted many times about their headsets... on the ear, boring kid headsets... and there were THREE adults around us wearing similar headsets that were not bothered. I am a single mother of three tired children and we were settling in for a long flight and I found the treatment very unnecessary and discriminatory. The food was pretty awful, lol. We ordered kids meals and none of my kids ate on the flight."

Negativ: "I had a very large man behind me and couldn't recline my seat an ounce therefore I couldn't sleep the entire flight. I think if your a certian size you should have to buy a seat with more room instead of make everyone else uncomfortable. The food was almost inedible, and there wasn't much more than chips or chocolate bars to pick up in That section of the Airport before flying out :( Entertainment choices were excellent though!"

Positiv: "Nice friendly staff in the plane. Nice friendly staff at the airport, although very slow and getting confused easily. Need more training."
Negativ: "Checkin process has to be SERIOUSLY reviewed and improved, especially for International travelers. Our boarding passes printed in Okinawa had to be REPRINTED in Tokyo for some reason, and we narrowly avoided a huge line to wait into because staff mistakenly made us wait in the WRONG lane. Note: on the way to Okinawa 2 weeks earlier, we had similar poor experience, but we only had to wait 5 min in the wrong lane. Overall ANA staff is very nice, friendly and smiling, but seems to get overwhelmed and confused very easily, and take FOREVER to do simple tasks that their US counterparts do 3x or 4x FASTER. --> do more regular TRAINING of your staff at airport counters !"

Positiv: "Narita airport ground crew were very enthusiastic Air line crew were nice as well"
Negativ: "Why Air canada sent me email that check in online but No information of eTA at all I didn't expect anything about eTA because They changed the system 5days before my booking without telling passengers so I applied eTA at check in counter of airgort They didn't accept my credit cards even after payment completely I still need to wait confirmation email that they take whithin 72hours I made my flight but I got 15minutes before flight time I ran air canada gate from departure gate with staff Air Canada was NOT kindness customers service except airport ground staff They helped me out to get my flight I am appreciate them"

Positiv: "We had two different tickets, one on ANA and the other for Air Canada. The young lady at checkin linked them, checked our bags through Tokyo to Toronto AND got us boarding passes all the way. Without that help we would have missed our connection in Tokyo. Thanks SO much to ANA."
Negativ: "Nothing."

Positiv: "I thought the overall service was very good. I like how well the crew communicated with the passengers and how smoothly everything went."
Negativ: "The food (dinner: chicken with rice, breakfast: eggs) was ok, maybe even a little yummy, but could've been better (eggs where a bit too wet). I also felt like the movie selection was rather disappointing. A lot of not so great hollywood blockbusters."

Positiv: "When we departed from Vancouver to Tokyo, we were pleasantly surprised by how courteous the airport staff and flight crew was, and by how roomy the seats were. Food wasn't outstanding, but better than other airlines we've been on for similar flights."
Negativ: "Two of our three bags did not make it onto the plane, and the staff at Tokyo Narita, while apologetic, were not helpful. We had to press hard to get our bags back the next evening, instead of 2 days later. The onus was placed on us to keep receipts for replacement items that needed to be purchased in the interim, as well as to make the claim for reparation money on our return. Not even a complementary toiletry kit was offered, despite the fact that I reiterated that I had literally no clothes or toiletries at all in the one bag that arrived. Crew on our return flight was borderline rude, did not seem to take any care at all wheeling heavy carts down the aisles while people slept on a transpacific flight, banged them into my daughter many times."

Positiv: "Good food, great entertainment. The extra for economy plus was well worth it."
Negativ: "Flight was delayed but most of the delay was recovered during the flight."

Negativ: "No wifi. The seats are really uncomfortable. Delays."

Positiv: "-Staff was friendly and helpful. -The food is pretty good, and comes frequently enough -Cheap! -The flight was delayed, but at least Air Canada automatically rescheduled my next flight for me (which also ended up being delayed, but I'm happy this issue was resolved well before going through customs with a ticket for an airplane which had already begun boarding/departed)."
Negativ: "-Air Canada baggage drop only open after 1pm -The aircraft was delayed, forcing my next flight from Toronto to have to be rescheduled. That flight was also delayed, so although I was supposed to be in Boston at 7:25, I arrived at around 11:25. All that extra time was spent waiting at Narita and Toronto. -Although I was seated next to a bathroom, I was at a window seat and thus had no good access to it for the whole 12 hour flight -- most of the time the way out was blocked by tray tables. Overall space was somewhat limited."

Negativ: "I needed to change my flight and Air Canads charged me $300! They said thy had some 'peak days' fee (August) and a 'weekend' fee, which covers Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 3 day weekend??! Come on, what a scam. Just charge me the flat change fee not all these bullshit greedy add-ons."

Negativ: "The customer service when our flight to Boston (connection) was atrotious. I will never fly Air Canada again"

Positiv: "A fine flight, considering how small the plane was."
Negativ: "Boring food. Better than none at all, I suppose. I had the vegan option. Perhaps they are trying to discourage vegetarians from eating on the plane at all? It took half an hour on the phone to even arrange it."
