Calling the agency Lastminute.com that had sold the ticket was not helpful either - they stated that they had no control over the ticket in the last 24h prior to departure and were unable to provide any assistance and no information how to activate the insurance purchased prior. Very dissatisfying experience. I take over 50 flights a year - worst assistance experience ever."

Leider habe ich weder eine Erklärung noch eine Entschuldigung erhalten, sondern musste mein Gebäck neu einchecken und war alles in Allem über 30 Stunden unterwegs. Bisher ohne Stellungnahme einer Airline ...."

Negativ: "Ich wurde aus unerfindlichen Gründen auf einen früheren Flug umgebucht. Dieser hatte soviel Verspätung das er später als mein ursprünglicher Flug startete. Leider habe ich dadurch meinen Anschlußflug in Peking verpasst und wurde erneut umgebucht und habe dann über einen Umweg nach Zürich mein entgültiges Ziel erreicht."

Negativ: "Der Service war unterstes Niveau. Angefangen vom Boarding, wo man jugendliche Traveller vor Familien mit kleinen Kindern das Fugzeug „stürmen“ ließ. So ging es leider weiter, ständige, sich wiederholende Durchsagen, viel zu warme Heizung, was mit „ Vorschrift bei Nachtflügen“ rechtfertigte."

We had to wait in the airport for hours for it arrive on the next flight. The experience at Beijing airport was my worst experience in any airport. The Chinese staff were very rude. Just to transfer planes everyone must submit their fingerprints. I don’t think I will ever fly Air China again simply to avoid this airport."

The "C" shape plus the headrest jutting out so far make it impossible to get comfortable enough to fall asleep and there is very little leg room. I had finally drifted off when my friend poked me awake because they were serving dinner even though there were about 4 hours left in the flight. I was half asleep and had no appetite so I ended up giving them the whole tray back. There was also a shrill toddler several rows ahead of us who was yapping loudly for the entire second half of the flight. I obviously understand that children will be children and it was a long flight, but would have been nice if staff had asked the parents to try to quiet him down as they were not attempting to do so at all. Finally, our bags did not make it onto the next flight in time."

The flight attendants aggressively enforce bizzare policies that no other airline has and since they don't speak English, they physically touch you, reach over, and adjust things without asking. I thought it was maybe just one crazy flight attendant, but no, two on one leg of the flight and three on the other flight."

We ended up missing our connecting flight since the TSA had a long line, and even with the security letting us pass through, we did not make it to our gate. A group of people from the same flight with me had to wait 9 hours for the next flight to Los Angeles from Beijing. The WiFi at the airport was horrible. Can't even load simple Facebook messenger. We could not update our loved ones waiting for us at LAX."

Positiv: "Flying on Air China typically works for my travels to Los Angeles. I think they are a great choice given the cost and services : )"
Negativ: "The departure out of Beijing was delayed some 1.5 hours because of one person who apparently left his passport near the gate prior to boarding. It was a full flight. I was just stunned that they would inconvenience hundreds of people whose schedules, including mine, were affected by their decision. May be it was a policy issue. But the crew didn't explain it very well, seemed more sympathetic towards the individual. While that was a kind solution to that one individuals but I wondered about the judgement of the crew. It was very frustrating for the rest of the people waiting onboard. Also this was the first time booking through justfly.com because it seemed the cheapest but the hidden (additional) cost was in the seat selection stage afterwards. Kinda misleading."

Negativ: "First time flying Air China - it was cheap and I mistaken it for China Airlines. Newer seats with touch screen TV, but the seating, screen and tray table were dirty and not properly wiped down. Lack of entertainment - no new movies, just a bunch of old released. Food was ok, minimal drink options. At time very difficult to understand crew members. It was the cheapest flight, and now I know why. The flight back to the US was significantly better than the flight from LAX to Beijing. That flight there was in an old Boeing with old dirty uncomfortable seats that I had to first drape with a blanket before sitting down and extremely dirty tray area that I scrubbed down with some wet wipes myself. The only saving grace was that it was an empty flight and I had the entire row to myself. Worst, we had a 7-hour delay in Beijing where the ground members did not speak English and could not give anyone an explanation as to why there was a delay. My family in Thailand came to the airport twice because they went back home the first time since they were waiting for too long and the airline could not give them an estimate of when the flight would take off. Never flying Air China again. Would recommend spending more a little more and fly EVA air or something else."

Negativ: "first flight to China was delayed so the connecting flight to Tokyo was missed. no explanation was given for the delay no food vouchers were available that night they lost my bag in china for 3 hours they brought me to hotel in unmarked bus with no explanation hotel told me that air china would only cover half the cost so I need to pay more or share a room the next day, air china's manager was uninterested in helping or explaining there hotel arrangements food on the last flight was just rice gruel and an aged egg. I am flexible but that's not even considered a meal in china. there is at least salt or pickled things in it. audio ports on plane did not work properly. on arriving home, most of the items in my suit case were crushed (coat hangers snapped, boxes crushed, bags ripped open) my dslr camera batteries were all taken (alkaline based ones) I travel between japan and america two or three times a year for the last 30 years. this last trip was one for the books! not sure where to start"

REPRESENTATIVE PROMISED TO CALL ME BACK IN ORDER TO GET MY $200 REFUNDED AND THEY NEVER CALLED BACK. THE WORST AIRLINE EVER. AVOID AIR CHINA AT ALL COSTS."

Positiv: "Hospitality was great they were very friendly. For a larger individual I recommend choosing your seat because you could get placed in a seat with very little room. They did everything they could to accommodate us and make the trip as comfortable as possible."

Speaking with a few natives from China, I learned that this was common in their culture. Please, PLEASE wear a mask if you decide to fly Air China. I got a throat infection and 103 degree fever from our flight to China. My husband got a sinus infection on the flight back. I personally will not take the risk again. The quality of the seats, service and entertainment are all mediocre at best. I'm use to seats a little bigger for international flights. The food also was very basic Asian dishes (rice or noodles and a protein in sauce). The service was just ok."

In addition, they charged me an extra $330 US, so the good fare on Air Chain / Air New Zealand did not materialize. I am thoroughly disgusted with the process and FlightNetwork."
