Es lag also auf der Hand, dass sehr viele Fluggäste deutsch als ihre Muttersprache haben. Das störte die Flugbegleiterin aber nicht. Sie sprach ein so schnelles und undeutliches Englisch, dass sie nicht bis gar nicht zu verstehen war."

We went to the airport and my daughter Allison was too anxious to get on as she had to leave her father behind. After she calmed down we went to get on the flight and the lady at the check in, (Onwsha) said it was too late and we could leave the next day. She changed my tickets on the computer and said if we came on Monday, March 19th there wouldn't be a charge but if it was any other date it would be $150.00 per ticket/person. When I arrived to check in on March 19th I was charged the $300. I spoke to Sharon Smith who was with Air Canada Customer Service Coordinator and I explained I was told something different by the customer agent. I told her if I knew that and I was told by Onwsha I would have went on the flight on March 18th but would not have checked the bags and just taken carry on luggage as my husband was still at the airport and he could bring them when he came over. Sharon Smith said there was nothing she could do and we had to pay the $300.00. It really has left a bad taste for me with Air Canada especially how many seats were spare and I was told something different from Onwsha. Thank you for your time. Negativ: "Boarding was slow and confusing: verbal instructions conflicted with posted signs, and it was hard to choose the right lines. Arrival in Canada was a nightmare! Customs and security were confusing, inefficient, and staffed by people who had little patience. There was much yelling and running around., there appeared to be little sympathy or concern for the dozens of passengers who were attempting to make connecting flights, and it was ridiculous to announce that security closed at 9p.m. .when there were planes on the runway awaiting connecting passengers and people with boarding passes who were not allowed to catch their flights."

Our carry-on luggage had to be far behind us and on the other side of the plane. If you would board the rear first and have each passenger keep their carry on above their own seat this would eliminate this problem and the congestion in the aisles which occurs because of it."

Customer service was not great. I was flying to see my daughter graduate, and the only time they could get me out was when the graduation started. No hotel vouchers were given for the delay either, so the airport bench ended up being the bed. So I ended up being stranded in Newark for an additional 8 hours to just miss her graduation."

Positiv: "The personnel AFTER passport control was wonderful, both airport and United. Passport control workers failed to recognize or help move us through to be able to board in time while they allowed other passengers to go ahead who had same departure. Plane waited 30 mins past take off for us."
Negativ: "Brussels airport staff at pass control needed to acknowledge departure concerns to prevent plane delay of takeoff. Many passengers missed their connection in Chicago because of our delay boarding due to pass control wait and lack of help."

Negativ: "I was not aware of the requirements of the Schengen Agreement and my passport was expiring in a couple of months. I was not able to get on this flight even though my final destination did not have the passport restrictions of the Schengen Agreement. When I booked the flight, I was not made aware of these requirements before my flight."

Positiv: "We were delayed boarding slightly, delayed sat on a steaming gate shuttle then sat on the tarmac for a couple of hours while storms passed. But the crew gave regular updates, provided food and water, allowed us to walk about. It was as plesent as such a situation could be."

Negativ: "1. There is a security check just prior to boarding at the gate in Brussels that is not known about in advance. The process is not organized, nor did I (along with other passengers) understand why another checkpoint was being unexpectedly required.. 2. The food onboard (main meal - beef and snack - calzone) were not good; although they were served hot, they were bland and unappetizing. Contrary to popular belief, not all airplane food is "bad". 3. And finally, the restrooms were not kept clean during the flight - I had never seen that on any of the nternational airlines I've taken over several years."
