The guy slammed back his chair into my lap and my beverage spilled all over me. Inconsiderate people aren't necessary their fault, but people need to stop being idiots and think of others, especially during meal times. The reclining potion of the chairs need to be better controlled or fixed."

I travel internationally four to five times a year for the past decade and I have never had such awful service as for my Lufthansa Flight 2329 on Jun 14th under confirmation #62RZK3. I was on my return flight to the US with the exact same carry on baggage that I had left the US with a week earlier- a roller carry on and a backpack for my laptop. This is my standard everywhere in the world that I travel and have never had an issue. I bought a painting on my trip and checked it in. With regards to my carry on, Ms. Contestabile was insistent that I could only have one piece for carry on. I told her to get the baggage rules and I would read them to her. I am a trained lawyer and value the meaning of words and rules. I explained that I am allowed one carry on and a personal item. She argued that my backback is not a personal item and that only a "laptop" is a personal item. I again explained that my personal item was my laptop bag, the same way a purse is a personal item for a lady. She finally relented and allowed me to pass through security and passport check. I assumed that this was the end of her confusion. Little did I expect that while sitting by the gate waiting to board the plane, Ms. Contestabile would emerge again and declare in front of all of the passengers that I would not be allowed to board the flight if I did not check my backpack. I told her this is unacceptable, since she had already cleared me. She said she had changed her mind. I found this response to be ridiculous. When I asked to speak with her manager, she refused to allow it, stating "I am the manager today." Ms. Contestabile even went to the pilot of the plane and convinced him that I was a "safety concern" because I wasn't following her ridiculous interpretation of the rules. This is a pure abuse of power and a threat to true safety when a ground crew member can make such a false and baseless accusation. Luckily, a woman passenger overhearing Ms. Contestabile told me that she could not believe the way she was treating me and offered to carry my bag for me. I am requesting a formal investigation into her actions and appropriate disciplinary procedures to ensure Ms. Contestabile is not allowed to threaten another passenger again."

Positiv: "I flew with multiple international airlines this summer and KLM was by far the best. The crew of KLM were exceptionally attentive, polite, and helpful. The meals were by far the most enjoyable of my airplane travel meals; and I learned that KLM does not charge for it's drinks on international flights, unlike most other international airlines that I traveled with this summer. In a sentence, flying with KLM was a very pleasant experience and I will recommend this airlines to others."
Negativ: "If I were going to list any negatives, I would say that the little travel pillow that was given to the passengers was so thin that it was practically useless, but I brought my own with me, so I was none the less comfortable."
Positiv: "Most of the flight was good, as I've come to expect from KLM/AF/DL. Entertainment choices were great and most of the staff was very friendly. Fresh brewed coffee in the beverage service was a huge plus!"
Negativ: "I usually fly Air France CDG-BOS and love it. My flight AMS-BOS with KLM/Delta was a disappointment from those experiences. The food was not very good and I'm not a huge fan of planes so old that my seat is a flotation device rather than having a real life jacket. Also part of my checked bag was broken off during transport."
Positiv: "They moved my boyfriend and I from the back two seats on the plane up to the front with four seats across the middle! This was amazing for the long flight and allowed us to be very comfortable throughout the flight. Great service as well with three food servings and constant trash pickup."

The attendants were gaga about a screaming baby but ignored the rest of us"

The attendant said i needed to speak up if i wanted something and i pointed out i did and he said he would get me on the way back but never came back until he was picking up the empties. He said everyone else seemed to get served what was my problem and I pointed out the girl next to me was also skipped to which he turned around and never walked down my aisle again. Also, the lack of wiFi on this leg was a disappointment as it was available on the trip to Barcelona. That goes a long way to making the long trip more enjoyable."

On the way back they didn't even offer me the second meal GF, I had to ask another flight attendant who went looking for it and found one.. so it was there, they just hadn't bothered to look for it. I also never understand why you wouldn't start boarding with the last rows? Is that just me? The aisles are always so crowded when the last rows walk in and there's always a line."

We had to go to another desk person to help us who was a bit more polite. The Finnair Customer Service telephone service was completely unhelpful even though this was booked as a Finnair Flight. The crew on board was ok, at best. The food was the poorest we had in both flights we took (we travelled from Barcelona to JFK, New York, and from JFK to YVR, Vancouver). We were most pleased with our flight from New York to Vancouver, with Cathay Pacific, who, by comparison, had very helpful and pleasant staff both at the JFK Airport and on board."

The wheelchair that I had ordered for my travelling companion was not there, either at Manchester or Philadelphia. The seats that I had reserved were given away to someone else. Whilst the plane flight itself was okay, the airport experiences on either end were miserable."

Negativ: "When flying from US to Erupoe there should be a private tv screen directly in front of every passenger. On this flight the tv is in the middle of the isle on the ceiling. That's terrible ! When you are on a 8 + hour flight. People want their own screen with their own options. Been on many flights to and from Eruope , this was the only flight that was set up like this. Change it"

Positiv: "Flight attendants were grumpy, food was horrible (even for airplane standards), entertainment selection subpar and boarding was confusing (i.e. they was a group "b" and a group "2"- both different? ) received no nice comforts such as eye mask, etc"
Positiv: "I was running late getting through check-in because there was an abandoned backpack that caused a huge mob scene and delay. The American Airlines/(Finnair) check-in staff were WONDERFUL and made it all OK, pulling us out of the mob to get us through check-in. Then I went through security, which the check-in staff had tried to expedite, and got stopped for a random inspection. Then, after boarding passes were scanned, I was again stopped for a random search that took apart every zippered corner of my purse and my carry-on bag. But again, everyone was lovely to deal with. By the time I got on the plane I was grateful for having caught the flight, and for the kindness of the Paris staff, and marveling at what an obstacle course it had been. And I had enough leg room."
Negativ: "1. The sound on my in-flight screen did not transmit the movie sounds, so I read a book all the way back. 2. The red wine was great to have. The food was like school cafeteria food, so I ate what I had brought with me. 3. The seats on airplanes never fit my body right. I sit very straight and upright, and I'm fairly tall. The airplane seats keep forcing my head forward and my back into a hunch."

Negativ: "A bit confusing and not sufficiently emphasized and explained. There were two sets of record finders, two sets of billing. For a while, I was wondering if I was double billed."
Negativ: "One crew member was extremely curt to myself and fellow passengers, not telling us to put down viewer, just slamming it away. Could have said something, been pleasant."

Positiv: "They lost our luggage and thhey haven't reimbursed anything yet. We are still lost in the customer service 1-800-never answering service"

Negativ: "the touchscreen for the movies didn't work well. I had to touch 5 - 10 times to get it to respond."
Negativ: "They would seat my wife and I separate unless we paid over 60 dollars per person. I had no information that the flight number and departure time had changed. We also had to board last because there was a software glitch for people with a US visa."
Negativ: "Quality of food and service is subpar compared to British, Air France, etc. The entertainment choices are limited and the screen is very poorly responsive - one of the worst I've seen - check Air Canada to see a very good one (from all aspects)."
Negativ: "This was a BA-operated flight, not Finnair. 24 hour advance online checkin and seat selection would not work for either segment of this trip. No satisfactory explanation given online, by phone or at airport nor were we able to select seats by telephone."
Positiv: "Was operated by American. They had my special meal organized properly, boarding was efficient, enough legroom in coach, nothing out of the ordinary."
Negativ: "All the shopping, eating, and entertainment in the terminal was before security, so once I was through passport and ticket control and metal detector screening, there was a single deli as my only food option. There was a second ticket control before the boarding area, and to go to the bathroom or to the deli, I had to queue in a line and show my ticket again."

Positiv: "You keep talking about Finnair. i called them originally right after i bought my round trip ticket to Madrid and they immediately steered me to US Airways and i had nothing further to do with Finnair. My flight was with US Airways both ways (stopover in Frankfurt going over and then Iberia to Madrid.) i like US Airways. i have watched their continuous improvement over the last 5-6 years in every aspect. i guess that is why American took them over. i just hope American doesn't screw them up and allows them to still operate as US Airways."
