The West Jet rep was very good and located the bags and they were delivered as promised. You should provide 3 page detailed instructions on how to handle Toronto. I am a seasoned traveler by the way. I’ve never seen anything worse. I could go on and on."

Negativ: "Das Bodenpersonal von Lufthansa am Düsseldorfer Flughafen ist unmöglich. Beim Check-In konnte mir die Dame keine Boardingkarte für meinen Anschlussflug drucken. Sie hat eine ganze Weile versucht mir die Karte zu drucken aber sie hat es nicht geschafft, später kam Hilfe dazu aber es ging trotzdem nicht. Daraufhin kam die Aussage, dass ich die Boardingkarte für Singaporeairlines vor Ort in Frankfurt holen solle. Ich möchte bemerken, dass die Umsteigezeit nur eine halbe Stunde betrug und der Frankfurter Flughafen bekanntlich sehr groß ist. Die Aussage der Lufthansa Supervisorin in Düsseldorf war: "Sie sind jung Sie schaffen das, laufen Sie einfach!" Anschließend musste ich noch 350€ für mein Extragepäck bezahlen, obwohl es eigentlich hätte 270€ hätte kosten müssen. Nach einer 10 Minütigen Dsikussion warum es denn so viel kostet, kam als Aussage, dass ich eigentlich Recht habe, aber das System leider die 350€ anzeigt! Es kann doch wohl nicht wahr sein, dass ich eigentlich 270€ bezahlen muss und es mir auch von der Lufthansa persönlich so bestätigt wird aber ich 350€ bezahle, weil das System es so anzeigt! Ich hatte lediglich einen einstündigen Flug mit der Lufthansa und anschließend einen knapp 9 Stundenflug mit Singapore Airlines. Bei dem Flug nach New York habe ich bei Singapore Airlines 2 Freigepäckstücke. Ich habe mich ausdrücklich bei der Lufthansa informiert, ob die Gepäckregelungen von Singaporeairlines gelten und mir wurde zweimal hundertprozent garantiert, dass die Gepäckbestimmungen von Singapore Airlines gelten, da ich länger mit der Fluggesellschaft fliege. Letzendlich musste ich mein zweites Gepäckstück doch bezahlen. 10 Minuten vor dem Boarding in Düsseldorf kam die Lufthansa Supervisorin zu mir und sagte, dass Sie wüsste, warum Sie mir keine Boardingkarte ausstellen kann. Es sei so, weil ich keinen Rückflug hätte, Sie hat mir erklärt, dass ich nicht in die USA einreisen könnte ohne einen Rückflug! Das Stimmt nicht! Lufthansa bitte belehrt euer PÜersonal richtig!!!! Ich habe ein J-1 Visum für ein Jahr und darf natürlich ohne einen Rückflug in den USA einreisen! Ich wurde vor Boarding aufgehalten und habe fast meinen Flug verpasst. Diese Dame wollt mich nicht fliegen lassen und mir einen "günstigen" Rückflug von 1500€ verkaufen! Und hat mir auch gedroht, dass Sie mich nicht fliegen lassen kann, weil Lufthansa sonst eine Strafe von 60.000€ bezahlen müsse. Ich möchte nochmal anmerken, dass ich mit der Lufthansa nur nach Frankfurt geflogen bin, also innerländisch! Wenn es so eine Strafe gegeben hätte, dann müsste Singapore Airlines diese bezahlen. Später sagte die Dame noch, dass Singapore Airlines mich sowieso nicht fliegen lassen würde! Also konnte ich plötzlich doch fliegen! Letzendlich bin ich gerade natürlich in den USA und JA ich durfte einreisen OHNE EINEN RÜCKFLUG!!! Denn ich arbeite in den Staaten und kann nicht hellsehen, was in 12 Monaten ist und wann ich zurückfliegen kann!!! Nie wieder fliege ich mit der Lufthansa!!"

Negativ: "Warum wird von den Flugbegleitern, sowie auch im Bordmagazin und einer zusätzlichen Broschüre groß angekündigt, dass eine Internetverbindung über FlyNet möglich ist, wenn es dann doch nicht funktioniert? Wenn man aus Erfahrung weiß, dass es bei Kurzstreckenflügen technische Problem gibt, sollte man auch nicht großspurig damit werben."

I like having the boarding pass on my phone. No paper to carry around."

But on Air Canada there was no food on a 5-hr international flight, the video screen didn't work well, and the flight attendant was having a rough day. As for the food, the chicken "wrap" was not a wrap, and was a weird Hot-Pocket type meal. After each meal, we ended up having to hold our garbage for quite some time which made manuvering in and out of seats a little tricky. I wish the seat cushion had a little more cushion since we were sitting for so long. Also at some point the overhead lights came on and stayed on, which was annoying if you were trying to nap."

Negativ: "The return leg has been nothing but a disaster, in every way possible, specifically my time and financially. At no point in the booking process, when I paid over $800 for the trip, was I told that I needed a specific travel visa (Canadian ETA) to fly back into Toronto for my return flight. Subsequently when I checked in for my flight yesterday morning in Manchester, England, I did not have the required travel documents and had to be rerouted onto a flight into the U.S. at a cost to me of $350. The rerouted flight got me to Washington Dulles airport, where I then had to purchase a second flight to get me home to Cleveland, Ohio, at an additional/extra cost of $450. MY CAR IS PARKED AT TORONTO PEARSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT!!! I am having to now rent a car and drive there tomorrow (Friday) to collect my car, at another additional cost of $100 plus a 10-hour round trip. Negativ: "This airline has little respect for its customers. In the economy/coach cabin, they squeeze the seat distances to such an extent that, when the person in front of you leans their chair back, you cannot get out of your seat at an upright angle. You have to significantly bend your body. To not loose your balance, you have to grab on to the seat in front of you and that disturbs the other passenger. If they're sleeping, they can be woken up by that. Lufthansa does not care much for its passengers. Nor do many other companies, for that matter, but I think Lufthansa is taking things further than most airlines. It is a disgrace. Their brand is not what it once was."

Negativ: "The flight was delayed for 2.5 hours, for a reason they never made clear after they let the passengers wait in line for 45 minutes to board. Once aboard, the Lufthansa planes were much much less comfortable than the Air Canada plane I took to Frankfurt. There is very little space and the seats are crammed together. The food they served was very bad, especially again in comparison with Air Canada. Once we arrived in Toronto, they made us wait nearly an hour before exiting the aircraft. It would seem that the Toronto airport would have to know we were coming and should have prepared accordingly, but apparently not. We sat, several passengers missed their connecting flights and were angry. I nearly missed my flight, having to run and race through customs (who are in no hurry)."

SERIOUSLY!?); a big difference from their partners (i.e. Swiss and Lufthansa). Crew was not present -- not only were they very unfriendly they were no where to be found. TV/video didn't work properly -- kept fast forwarding or changing channels on its own. The crew of course, was not concerned."

Positiv: "The crew were lovely and welcoming. We was given snacks and drinks on the flight which was great. Take off was a bit delayed but boarding was smooth. Couldn't complain about the comfort as was only just over an hours flight."

Positiv: "The staff were friendly and all smiles. Seats were comfortable and we had a quick, smooth flight from Edinburgh to Amsterdam. The breakfast supplied was an egg and mayonnaise sandwich plus a drink, which seemed about right and very Dutch in character."

Alle nass ins Flugzeug. Aber, das liegt natürlich an der Abfertigung in Birmingham und nicht an KLM."

The food was not very good and I'm not a huge fan of planes so old that my seat is a flotation device rather than having a real life jacket. Also part of my checked bag was broken off during transport."

With our previous flight delayed, the application did not process in time, and we missed our connecting flight. As a result, we were stuck in Poland for 24 hours, leading to lost sleep, added expense, and much frustration. Customer service in Poland was helpful but extremely slow. Many customers needed help and it took about an hour for each customer. We waited in line for hours. We were not charged for a new flight, but we did spend 10 exhausting hours in the airport before we had everything resolved and were able to leave and get a few hours of sleep."

Negativ: "There is less leg room than on other international carriers. I am tall and found it quite uncomfortable. I was also surprised by how bad the food was - worst airline food I have ever had on both trips. Sadly, also the most unfriendly air crew as well. Also, unlike international flights with Air Canada, you have to pay for alcohol (though the prices are pretty good)."

Positiv: "The entertainment on the plane was great. Large selection of movies, music, and TV shows to keep yourself entertained. The dinner was adequate. It was also nice having the overhead screens continually update our flight progress."
Negativ: "The seats are incredibly cramped, by the end I was feeling seriously claustrophobic. It didn't help that we left late. The boarding process was a mess, nobody seemed to know what to do, and the announcements were all mumbled to the point where I was just guessing what to do. The second meal served was inedible as the bread was completely stale. Also, one of the toilets was broken and kept flushing, even when sitting on it. Like the boarding process, disembarking was sloppy and confusing. It took a very long time to open the door, and they only told people at the last minute that they needed to get their passports out."

Negativ: "breakfast meal - very dry sandwich with only one slice of cheese no internet access during flight inability to use headphones during take off and landing"

Positiv: "The 787 Dreamliner was nice, and the business class seats are roomy. And the ticket was priced right!"
Negativ: "They lost my luggage in the outbound direction and no-one appeared to care. When I called the number that they provided frequently no-one answered. Even when I finally got through, no-one could provide me ANY information as to the whereabouts of my bag. It finally showed up on the last day of my stay, but it was delivered to another hotel (which I only figured out after about 10 phone calls). Also, they offer perhaps the worst in-flight video selection I have ever seen."

Negativ: "We were late into Chicago causing me to miss connections. I was forced to rent a car for a one way drive back to Grand Rapids."

Positiv: "Complementary headphones, drinks, and snacks. I flew economy as as a 6'3" guy I was generally comfortable -- though I would recommend you sit in the aisle seat. Food wasn't the worst."

Negativ: "food was too simple. "Dinner" was so poor after 6 or 7 hours, we only received half a sandwich and a dessert. The seats did not give us a lot of movement. My husband could not even put down his tray table because woman in front pushed her chair back. In general, there was not a lot of English speaking from the stewardesses. Very strong Polish accents made it very hard to understand what they said on the speaker. Not too many choices of English movies."

Positiv: "This is the way to travel. Good food and booze terrific. Seat in business was very cool full recline into bed. Personal media center from friendly staff that will do just about anything to make things perfect"

Negativ: "The crew seated an alcoholic next to me and refused him alcohol. He bullied me and them all night to procure him alcohol and they were no help to me. He said they knew he was an alcoholic and wouldn't serve him but that didnt stop him from trying or from pushing me to get him some. He got up a dozen times, looked sick, and for the last 2 hours fidgeted and muttered and moaned. If they knew he was in such rough shape, why allow him to fly and why allow his behavior towards them or me? The food was gross!"

Negativ: "The seats were very uncomfortable; although I had an exit row seat with extra leg room I found the seat to be uncomfortable and was very glad for the flight to be over."

Not the same business class product at all, ancient plane, worn seats though they claim to be "new" on this 767. Multiple hours delayed departing, no reason given, and no updates, we just sat there for hours. I assume mechanical. Caused me to miss my connection and here I am having to pay huge for a last minute hotel. Not what was advertised to me which was a LOT flight not a codeshare on an old plane. Booked it through Kayak, will not be doing THAT again."
