Negativ: "This was a plane with central screens along the aisle, and the airline chose to broadcast a sci-fi action movie with almost constant flashing blue light, and violent action scenes. This was first of all a movie that many people, including me, would never choose to watch, but since it was on the aisle screens there was no getting away from it. It was also unsuitable for children, even without sound. But mainly, I object to the showing of any film in that situation - only aisle screens available, and on a night flight where most of the passengers are trying to sleep. I was awakened several times by the flashing lights. Other things: one of the bathrooms was not very clean, and the plane felt like the usual cattlecar, with just 3 seats on each side of the aisle, which is unusual and unpleasant for a transatlantic flight."

Negativ: "Couldn't get our meal preference selected, Iberia page for the flight check-in didn't work at all, getting a page not found error. Then after calling Iberia, and getting the AA confirmation managed to at least get into AAs web site for the flight, but now it was apparently too late to change our food option, and AA wouldn't work with us at all, the phone agent event LIED on the phone suggesting we could talk to customer service at the airport to have them provide an appropriate meal option. The customer service line was CORDONED OFF at LAX, and getting help out of their agents was like trying to get blood from a stone. The worst customer service experience I've ever had, even than Comcast. Then, I guess this ticket is economy minus, you have to pay more for seats that aren't at the total arse end of the plane. WTF. Economy means economy, not the back end of economy, but now you gotta pay to "upgrade" to regular economy. I can't imagine what that must have been like for families of four with children who are being extorted just so they can sit together. Then at the airport, despite having been assigned a gate, the plane came into a different gate, and we're just sitting there slowly wondering more and more why there aren't many people around. Finally we have to go ask another airlines' desk where our plane is at (it never had a correct gate assignment on the monitors) to figure out where we had to board. No announcement, no agent at the old gate to direct passengers to the correct place. Upon traveling to London on the red-eye, they proceeded to keep the plane completely dark the entire trip. No attempt to help passengers adjust to the destination time zone at all. Trying to open a window resulting in being curtly asked to close it. Jet lag on eastbound transatlantic is bad enough without the airline making it worse. On the return journey the line for the gate was around the corner AFTER boarding had started, and people couldn't board in any sort of order. My entertainment system crashed, when they finally came round with food, I could ask them to reset it. Having paid for the Wifi, which is fine, it's an add-on service, it was difficult to connect to, my phone really struggled to bring up the sign-in page, and I had to reboot my laptop three times, clearing my browser cache to get it to connect. The connection and payment screens were very slow, which was because the wifi overall was very slow. I am sitting on the plane waiting to hear from my father about his critical surgery with my phone dropping on and off the wifi due to slowness and extreme packet loss (>50%). I had been hoping to get some work done on the flight, so much for that idea, I couldn't maintain a solid VPN connection for more than 5 minutes at a time. I will never fly AA again unless they are the last option at a non-horrible price. This was an emergency trip as it was, and booked through Iberia; thanks for nothing Iberia."

AA flies outdated aircraft with old entertainment systems. Time for an upgrade! AA crew is okay, but BA crew is better. Might choose a different carrier next time."

Negativ: "Holy moly. You know if you stopped charging extra money for checked baggage you wouldn't have a ridiculously annoying amount of customers with too many bags for overhead storage. Then you wouldn't have to threaten your customers to store their small bags under the seat. Then I would have room for my feet under the seat. When I would have been comfortable. I also wouldn't have to annoy my neighbor with trying to move and get comfortable. But instead the exact opposite happened and I'm offended you guys have America anywhere near your name."

Negativ: "The airline personel (flight attendants, people at desk) seemed disorganized. When I hadn't been served a meal (apparently was overlooked as I was in a middle seat), it was almost impossible to get someone's attention, and then there was no acknowledgment or apology of the problem. Boarding was also disorganized; not as clear as it could be who was supposed to be getting on the plane when. Also leg room in coach is really cramped for a long-transatlantic flight."

Negativ: "I fell asleep and missed if they offered water or anything. And I missed if they did a safety preflight. When I purchased the tickets online it never told me that there would be a charge for my bag. The plane was half empty. People payed for there seats when it wasn't necessary there was plenty of room on the plane"

Negativ: "My seat was changed on me last minute without notifying me. I was moved away from my friends. It took a while to get this resolved with my seat. Once it was solved my chair was broken and could not recline. It took them 3 hours to get this fixed and were rude to me the entire time. I told them I had never been treated so poorly on a plane."

Positiv: "The flight to Chicago from Reno was wonderful! The plane was clean, there were TV's on the backs of the seats, the staff was friendly and the seats were comfortable. Reno Airport was easy to travel through and the personnel were friendly."
Negativ: "The return flight from Chicago to Reno was the exact opposite of the pleasant experience I had from RNO to ORD. Chicago personnel were terrible and rude (I grew up in Chicago and brag about how Midwesterners are nice). Security forced me to check my bag because I am 7 months pregnant- it was the same size as all the other people in line. Ultimately I am glad, because It The gate was changed 3 times in under an hour in 3 different terminals and it would have been a lot for a pregnant lady to drag around. When on the plane we were delayed for 45 minutes at the gate. Once in the air the plane had broken TV for entertainment, poorly functioning WiFi and very uncomfortable seats. The last hour was miserable and I just wanted to get home."

As a result, my boarding pass did not show TSA Prechecked status. I had to stand in a line at Chicago for security check for over an hour, and could not access the flight information in the AA app without manually searching by conformation code."

Negativ: "Lack of entertainment. No TVs. Old plane and tv in the middle with random films on. Couldn't see tv properly from my seat as I am a small person and the passenger in front blocked my view. Food is lacking variety as a vegetarian and is not filling enough. Have been travelling with American for the last three years and the menu is the same. Should consider employing someone to help them make the menu interesting because they need it. I am reluctant to fly with American again. Why are they still using old planes with no TVs for 10 hour flights? Ridiculous."

Negativ: "The coach FA stood talking with the pilots about some trip they were taking on vacation then all of sudden figured out it was time to go so the pilots did their preflight and discovered a "problem with safety equipment" which required maintenance to repair. The First FA apparently was brand new, couldn't read the announcements on the tablet they give them without stumbling over words and had no clue whatsoever about how to serve food on the very short flight. Not a professional operation at all."
