We tried twice to fly home earlier because we knew the flights were going to get cancelled but the airlines wanted to charge us $1500 for that. So when the time came and the flights got cancelled they were trying to adjust the flights and we got stranded away from our kids. Overall it was not a great experience as far as their customer service and we were not happy with how they chose to handle things."

Negativ: "My flight was cancelled twice within 24 hours before takeoff. All I got was an email saying it was cancelled and a number where no one could help me. I spent over $40 international calls just to reschedule my flight, only to have to take a $80 cab to the airport to have a human help me. Worst customer service and worst experience. I was trying to get home after a natural disaster struck my hometown and Turkish Airlines actually made that experience even worse. At no point did anyone even apologize for cancelling two of my flights without another option until a full week later. I had to pay to fly myself home from Boston because they were so unhelpful. Would never recommend Turkish Airlines to anyone I know whn traveling internationally."

It would be great if Turkish Airlines could resolve it in the future! Additionally the boarding process in Istanbul was like herding cattle. People weren't seated according to boarding group and it was absolute mayhem--no single file line, people shoving past one another to get seated first on the same plane."

We had to sprint from the transit security area, through the crowded main terminal, to gate 705 to our sole connecting flight to Miami. A bus or other form of transportation should be provided to gates that are very far away. We were the last ones to board. Private security staff at the gate prior to boarding the bus to take us to the plane confiscated my Bluetooth headphones under the assumption that they fell under TSA's prohibited electronic devices (which they do not). When on board the plane, I noticed another passenger with similar headphones which were not confiscated- selective enforcement."

The entertainment's touch screen system is inadequate, not reacting to touch efficiently."

Negativ: "We had no individual entertainment on the flight, only very old CRT screens hanging from the ceiling, circa 1995. They did show movies but the sound quality was poor and my headphone jack did not work so I had to share with my husband. They offered no explanation for this, since their website clearly promises individual screens for international flights. When asked, the FA simply said "this isn't our usual plane for these types of flights." However, we had the same issue when flying to Frankfurt with them, so the company seems to just be lying. The food can barely pass as food. Everything was ice cold except the main dinner entree, even the bread. The only vegetable available throughout our 8+ hour flight was shredded carrots absolutely swimming in mayonnaise. The boarding process was exceedingly slow and they would not allow use of cell phones for boarding passes, although their check in provides the attachments. This required probably 1/4 of those boarding to have to step aside to another line for a paper copy. Again, no apologies or explanations from the company. Overall, I wish I had shopped around a bit more and chosen another airline. International flying is supposed to be somewhat enjoyable, even in economy class. Instead, this was the longest 8+ hours of my life."

Negativ: "Boarding did not proceed by rows as customary so boarding was a bit chaotic with everyone rushing to the gate. The reclining seats aee an issue. Although comfortable for the ones reclining they are uncomfortable and at times painful ( taller people) and makes watching the screen impossible when fully reclined."

The only way to talk to them is to find them at the end of the plane ( where they been chating with each other ) Secondly . The amount of snacks was limited where’s in Turkish airlines it’s unlimited and you can choose different sandwiches whereas in Austrian airilines can offer biscuits and Cookies ;( Thirdly . We are living in 21 century and most transatlantic airlines have WiFi ! Where’s Austrian did not have it!"

Negativ: "My Swiss flight from Stuttgar via Zurich to JFK was cancelled before 24 hours without explaining the reason. They should explain the reason at least. I had to take an another flight and arrived at JFK after 6 hours from the original flight. My trip was totally messed up, so I was not happy at all."

Negativ: "only provided ONE meal on an 11 hour flight?? how is that ok? people were very hungry. when i asked about that, the disinterested flight attendants tried to convince me that they had in fact provided “two services” -they apparently think a small packet of crackers counts as dinner. shortly before landing they served a stale ham sandwich (8 hours after the only meal). Food quality was poor as well. during booking there was not an option to indicate dietary requirements either. not impressed with austrian air overall."

Um....no thanks-please get new cups!"

There was not an exchange with her that was friendly and agreeable. When serving drinks a second time, she asked me what would I like to drink and I answered: What do you have? I had not asked the first time drinks were served since I knew I wanted orange juice. he second time, and not wanted to drink the same, I asked: what do you have? and her answer was: "Same as before". I had to let her know I had not asked before and then she proceeded to tell me the different drinks and finally added: My colleague will take care of you. She did not want to serve me. The first incident went I tried to use the bathroom in the back of the plane, she would tell people: "don"t use that one, I need that bathroom for......." ( not sure for what but her tone was so rude,that people walked to the other bathroom embarrassed). All I can say is that everything else was great, including the friendliness of all other crew, but that one ruined the experience. A third time I got up to walk to the bathroom and the seatbelt sign was on, but so it had been for a long time. She prompted me to go back to my seat. All others seem to do their job without been rude, Not sure why this one couldn't. Job stress? Not the passenger's problem. Besides that and the poor movie choices, everything else was great. I think the flight was delayed but to that point everything was going so smooth, I didn't even notice. I will fly Austrian again, and would love to visit Vienna. Please advise how to add the miles of my trip to my account. I booked in Kayak, left to Ohio from Miami running from hurricane Irma, my return from Ohio to Miami was cancelled and I had to embark on that long plan10 day trip without even returning home to Miami to pack. I totally forgot about putting the miles on my account on either ticket counter."

Negativ: "Very confusing boarding procedures. In Vienna they would check you at the gate to make sure you are in but keep you standing for a long time. I am not sure what happened but food was barely edible: breakfast eggs were like rubber and Lunch was served with a tiny sandwich. For a 10 hour flight it was not even sufficient"

Negativ: "I specifically selected three seats for my Wife and two children ages 7 and 5. I did not fly back with them and at check in the three seats were confirmed on a boarding pass printed at their departure location. Upon checking in on the connecting flight in Vienna, the seat assignment had been completely disregarded and three seats located 10+ aisles apart were given to a family traveling together??????? This makes no sense and must be due to booking through a third party. Unacceptable and not worth the $40 per ticket savings."

Positiv: "Our seats 35 A & C were comfortable as they were to the back of the plane where it narrows to two seats per side row. Seemed like extra leg room. Crew was very friendly and helpful. Flight was smooth and uneventful. Good movie choices. Bathroom was clean and nearby. Plane seemed newer Boeing model. The City Airport Transport (CAT) train from the Vienna airport to city center was fantastic. We were able to check our luggage and get boarding passes where we boarded the CAT at the metro station and did not have to wait in line at the airport...wonderful system!"
Negativ: "At the gate there was a line formed for a second passport check but it was not clear to passengers that they needed to go through this line. A significant number of us had SSSS on our boarding passes which required us to go through a second, more thorough, TSA security procedure. We had to remove shoes, take electronics including phones from cases, have purse contents gone through by personnel, be screened for residue, etc. Due to this process and the fact that we were not advised to stand in the line, a number of passengers went through the second security check at the last minute which caused our takeoff to be delayed. The pilot made up the time during the flight. I ordered low sodium meal which ended up to be the same food at both meals which was a disappointment - pasta with tomato, eggplant sauce."

Eventho I have marked it on my ticket I need kosher food it wasn't available. It is upsetting. It would be a must at every company, regardless of the service to have name tags for the employees!!! Mostly the flight attendants were kind, but as soon as i asked for something it seemed like they don't want to help or work at all. I understand I have traveled on the economy class but shouldn't make a difference how you treat the travelers. The pillows were dirty!!!!! Not only one, because I have asked for more......most of them! It is disgusting! Something must have been wrong with the headphones because the volume was on max when i tried to watch the move but barely could hear anything. I have flew with Lufthansa most of the time and in the future will chose them. Very disappointing that sooo many little things are interrupting a vacation."

Positiv: "After departing the cluster fk that is O'Hare airport it's such a pleasure to interact with Vienna and Austrian Air. I had 'only' an hour to make the connection, and yet all, that is all, formalities took no more than 10 minutes. I had plenty of time to spare. Waiting area at the gate had plenty of seating and the staff was professional and courteous. We had to gate check bags as the plane was a regional turboprop, but everything went very smoothly."

Positiv: "Compared to most American crews the Aus crew was helpful and outstanding."
Negativ: "The chicken dinner was not that great and the breakfast was only a muffin, I expected more. On Turkish airlines flight from Ord to Istanbul we got a full breakfast tray."

I weight 62kg and was sitting in a middle seat. Next time I'll have to get an upgrade."

Positiv: "The second flight was on time and even though I spent the night at the Amsterdam airport my baggage was checked through so I did not have to worry about it during the night."
Negativ: "When I asked whether the snack was vegan I got the answer "It's a wrap". When I ordered tomato juice I was forgotten and did not get anything. There were no vegan snacks on each of the flight, but I guess that would be too much to wish for ;)"

KEIN SERVICE, EINFACH NUR SCHLECHT UND ÄRGERLICH!"

Negativ: "One of the senior stewardesses we're very rude. Whether it's her personal opinion or KLM's policy, it's unreasonable to think that a 3 years old child could or should hold her pipi over 20 minutes, while they slowly and inefficiently trying to give out food. Several parents were there with the request to let us through to the toilet with small children and she smiled in our face and said "no, we will finish first and than you can go". She might be not fit for the job anymore, but KLM can't afford this kind of treatment."

Alle nass ins Flugzeug. Aber, das liegt natürlich an der Abfertigung in Birmingham und nicht an KLM."

Negativ: "Our flight from Nairobi to Lusaka was cancelled for some reason and we did not find out until we happened to log into the website to double check our itinerary. They automatically rescheduled the flight only giving us 25 minutes to reach our next flight...impossible. so, after calling, we were re-booked again and forced into a 13 hour layover in Amsterdam. Our original flight plan had 4 hours. so, because we are a family of 7 with a baby, we had to buy a hotel room to rest, costing us a lot of extra money we had not planned to spend. We contacted KLM for help with the cost but were rejected. We also lost 5 bags somewhere between Chicago and Lusaka, but after 2 days, we received them."

Negativ: "My family of five spent a lovely week in Sardinia. Our return flight took us through Rome. We were boarded an hour ahead of departure from Rome for our 10+ hour flight, only to be held on the ground for a one hour delay. Barring equipment malfunction, this is a totally unacceptable way to treat people. Be assured that I will avoid Rome in the future if at all possible. I trust that Rome nor Italy need my tourist dollars and there are many lovely other places to spend them. Exceedingly disappointed, Pam Just"

Negativ: "Apart from the unorganized immigration and check-in process the service is very average. On both transatlantic flights the toilets did not work properly. Furthermore the business practice to charge you for any luggage $ 90 at airport without prior notice during the booking process is quite unpleasant and uncommon for transatlantic flights. Would be good that airline as well as internet travel agent would advice about this additional costs in a more transparent way before you purchase the ticket"

Negativ: "I am a permanent resident of USA and have a Green Card and the portuguese boarding crew gave me a hard time about my paper work. I was very disappointed by the way they treated me."

Positiv: "Getting through customs at Lisbon airport is a nightmare. It takes a full hour standing in line among a hoard of other arrivees before passports are checked."

Negativ: "The Lisbon airport is very difficult to navigate; signage is poor, and there are not enough staff on the ground. The waiting lines for TAP check-in are outrageous. TAP policy states they allow choosing a seat starting 36 hours of departure, but the poorly designed website let me book seats, and then asked me to pay; at the airport they also told me I had to pay on check-in to choose a seat. Worst of all, at the gate, the waiting area forces all passengers to wait while standing in a big herd - an hour - while police spot check random passenger carry-ons and perform body checks."

While this was happening, I had to stand around, moving from free place to free place as others boarded. TAP also does not offer vegetarian meals. You have to special request it, unlike most other carriers. This is stated nowhere in the booking process. Even the salad had meat."

Negativ: "My entertainment system at my seat kept freezing. Would have used it throughout the flight but was only able to watch one movie. Reset attempts occurred but eventually I gave up."

Positiv: "So much more leg room than the first flight, was able to fully stretch out my legs when needed. Better entertainment with so many viewing options; was able to watch 4 movies."
Negativ: "Turbulence was pretty bad, but I can't fault the airline for that. Food was typical plane food, but they did cancel the second meal due to turbulence. At the end of a 9 hour flight I was starving by the time we landed. Constant updates over the loud speaker by the pilot and stewardess got annoying; felt like every 20-30 minutes and saying the same thing, and saying it in 3 different laugages."

Positiv: "The attention was great, cordial and polite, was right on time, the movies current and good, I enjoyed the food too.i will fly TAP again for sure."

Negativ: "I don't like how they do boarding. There is no organization, There was a big group and then when they were calling my rows you had to get past many people ahead of you. The other problem is when we disembarked the plane, we took a bus and then were dropped off in an area that was very far from the baggage area. We walked and walked and there were no bathrooms, walked through all these high end shops and no bathroom available til you got to the baggage area."

Positiv: "TAP is a pleasure to fly. Nice aircraft, dedicated freindly crew. Food was good, and plenty of it. Free wine! Great value."

Negativ: "It must have been the cheapest version of the Boeing 777. The seats were small and the entertainment system was terrible with limited selections. Food and beverage service was slow."

Positiv: "Seats had more room than our other flights (think the plane might be a bit older.) Staff or board were efficient and friendly Food was better than on other flights."
Negativ: "Asked for a wheelchair assist and it didn't show up. I went ahead, not realizing there would be a second security line after the first one and immigration. At that point, I had trouble walking. Staff their found a wheelchair for me. This may be more airport operations in Lisbon - but I bet TAP has a lot to do with that. Seat control for video and movies didn't work."

Negativ: "The food was not very good (my husband tried one and I tried the other and neither were very good). The afternoon snack was much better. On the entertainment, we weren't able to select what we wanted to watch at any time like other planes. You simply chose the channel which was showing something of the airlines's selection."

Positiv: "Lisbon airport is very well organized , and that helps a lot when doing a fligth connection . Lines at passport control were long but they move fast . There was staff people helping travelers whose flights were already boarding . On the plane lunch was delicious . I had bacallao, frango escabeche and white wine . Crew was very polite ."
Negativ: "Lisbon wifi is very slow and login process not very friendly ."

Positiv: "Es gibt keine anderen direkten Verbindungen nach Brasília aus Europa, die tagsüber gehen. Schneller und gut organisierter Umstieg in Lissabon ist klarer Vorteil gegenüber länger Wartezeit in Rio oder Saõ Paulo, teilweise mit Flughafenwechsel."
Negativ: "Unbequeme Economy Class, falsche Sitzplatzkarte, keine Steckdosen in Economy - allesamt völlig unangemessen für einen 9,5-Stunden-Flug."

Negativ: "- Sitzreihen so eng, dass Männer normaler Größe kaum hineinpassen, Knie stoßen an und Zurücklehnen des Vordermanns dadurch unmöglich - Personal teilweise unfreundlich, Essen bekam man ohne ein Wort auf den Tisch geworfen - Laute, beängstigende Geräusche vom Flugzeug ausgehend während und bis 20 Minuten nach dem Start - Essen bestand aus einer Scheibe trocken Toast mit orangenem Käse und Schinken, keine vegetarische Alternative (ich bin kein Vegetarier, aber man wurde ja nicht mal gefragt, ob man das haben möchte) - Boarding hielt sich mit ewigen Erklärungen und Sortieren der Reihen auf, statt endlich das Boarding zu starten"
