So it was FOUR HOURS LATE arriving, including an extra hour on the ground in Bangor because they'd lost their landing slot (tho they lied about "bad weather" at JFK) ... a succession of lies and incompetence. Headphone jack didn't even work at the seat ... the movie was a US film dubbed into French anyway! Gawd what incompetence. A letter Fedexed to Doug Parker, AA's CEO, was not even acknowledged.... and I do 35,000 air miles a year on AA. THE WORST."

I could have bought some new cloths but since I was TOLD my cloths would be arriving by 1-2:00pm and be delivered by early evening, I thought that not necessary. I believe I was told that so BA"

We did, asked for boarding passes and were told it would cost $150.00 to take the earlier flight...so we sat for more than 3 hours waiting for our connection, after buying over $2,000 in airfare, traveling for 24 hours and seeing a partly empty plane leave Charlotte for Knoxville. We were the given the back two non reclining seats on the flight, even though we had booked weeks in advance...so no we felt very let down at the end of a difficult trip."

Ich hatte einen freundlichen Helfer am Schalter, aber sein Supervisor hat mich dann ohne zu Fragen einfach irgendwie umgebucht, z.B. ein Tag später, dann mit Übernachtung irgendwo. Die Flüge am selben Tag wurden zuerst gar nicht berücksichtigt, bis ich dann online selber gesucht habe. Schlussendlich hat mir ein Mitarbeiter der Lufthansa geholfen noch einen Flug am gleichen tag zu bekommen. Mein Gepäck ist bis jetzt 48h später noch nicht aufgetaucht. Gesamthaft für United ein sehr schlechter Service!!!"

Negativ: "I went on this trip as an veterinary humanitarian out reach. I was also guardian to one high school student so that she might have an experience of such to guild her future. Her flight was missed booked to leave after mine, I attempted to rebook my flight with Luthansia but they would not let me me even partial rebook. I attempted a number of times to rebook the flight but their solution was extreme financial gain for them when more reasonable alternative could have been arranged. They canceled my entire return flight and left me stranded. I had to piece together a return flight on a shoe string budget. Thankfully American Airlines was understanding for it appears Luthansia and United are not."
Positiv: "That the plane arrived on time, which is a miracle in itself."
Negativ: "No offer by the Flight Attendant to any passenger if they wanted extra snacks or if they desired to have the entire can of soft drink they requested. Only one A/C was operational, so thank God we cruising at altitude cooled the cabin down."
Positiv: "New plane, courteous staff. everything on time--what else could you want?"
Negativ: "There were some crying babies, (5 of them--yikes) but nothing you could do anything about."
Negativ: "I am almost always cold. Not so on this flight. The temperature on the plane was so miserably hot that I had sweat pouring down my face. Everyone around me was trying to open their air vents to get more cool air and/or fanning themselves. I asked the flight attendant about it and he said that the plane was just old and it would cool off eventually. It did, about 20 minutes before they cut the air down again for landing. By the time I got off the plane I was nauseated from the heat and stale air. It will be a long time before I fly United again if this is any indication of the condition of their planes."

Negativ: "Effizienz beginnt beim Check-in/Baggage drop off: Check-in nur per Automat. Man muss selber den Gepäcktag ausdrucken und am Gepäck befestigen. Veraltete Sitze die zwar breit aber unbequem sind. Völlig veraltetes Entertainment System, mit gerade einmal acht Filmen, keine Pausefunktion, keine Möglichkeit zurückzuspulen, Bildschirm ist schlanke 12 Zoll groß. Bordtoilette war alt und schlecht gepflegt."
Negativ: "The only complaint is to have to pay for the TV. I feel it should be part of the service. On the way going to Punta Cana the flight attendant gave it to us for free and that was very nice as it made the trip seem to go by faster. Other then that everything was wonderful."
Positiv: "Once we got on board the flight attendant was very nice and accommodating. The flight itself was fine."
Negativ: "We had to wait 4 hours to board our flight. The plane was late, then they had to replace the whole navigation system. Then at the last minute told us to go to another gate and when we got there we were told to go back to the original gate. Getting another plane from the get go would have eliminated a lot of the hassle we all experienced."

Positiv: "The captain, crew and gate personnel were very friendly and helpful, despite what I think had been a long day for all of them too. I appreciated their efforts to provide drinks for everyone despite the crazy short flight."
Negativ: "I was rather annoyed that the inflight video monitors played commercials for the entirety of the flight (almost no one elected to pay $8 for TV on what was supposed to be about a one hour trip). The cabin was obnoxiously bright as a result, and it was difficult to avoid being distracted and irritated by the flickering. United should have those screens turned off unless users pay for them-- it would save valuable energy too, wouldn't it? I was also frustrated that we were delayed a number of times because of mechanical difficulties, but I'm grateful that we took off knowing everything worked. Between the late in-bound crew and the mehanical hold ups, we could have all taken the bus and arrived sooner."

Keine Serien etc. for free. Mein Fazit: Fliegen in den USA ist für den Europäer gewöhnungsbedürftig. Dabei sind die Preise für die Flüge nun nicht ungewöhnlich günstig, als dass das die ganzen zahlungspflichtigen Services rechtfertien würde..."

Negativ: "They overbooked and pushed us to later flight, later flight boarded late, on run way 2 hours, plane maintenance issue so changed aircraft—supposed to arrive 1:30pm, arrived after 10pm, gate agent erased reservation adding frequent flyer number so my seat was given to someone else and I sat finally in last row by toilet instead of with my family—then no one can find record of my return flight and Ethiopian contact number impossible to reach. Truly awful experience. I have no idea if I will have seat on return flight."

Negativ: "At the Addis airport, it seems chaos reigns! My flight was never listed on any display to say what gate we departed from. A crowd of people boarding for two different planes just rushed the gate area. I’ve got no idea how everyone ended up on the right plane. My flight was never announced I had to keep going up to ask over and over. The bathrooms at the airport are unhygienic and the available food is abysmal. On the plane was better except that the only entertainment is over head screens that didn’t work my overnight flight was miserable as the lights were on the whole time and they repeatedly woke me up to eat throughout the flight. I’ll do what I can to avoid the Addis airport from now on."

When I went directly to the Ethiopian airline website they wouldn't allow me to online check in. I called the agency and I couldn't be connected to anyone. I missed the physical check in by 4 minutes and no one was at the counter to help me reschedule. Really disappointing."
