I understand and take full responsibility for booking the wrong departure date but when I tried to change it after missing the flight I was told that the airline policy was to charge a $300 change fee plus $30 for the third-party vendor. Because this was booked as a round-trip this vendor was attempting to charge me $330 plus the full price purchase of a new ticket as the "change fee". For some reason I was unable to explain to the person on the phone that it made no sense for me to pay full price for a ticket plus give that vendor an extra $330. I was forced to eat the entire round-trip ticket and of course save $330 by just hanging up and booking a new flight. I have course book a new flight directly with the airline. I could not even fly standby on the next flight with the airline because they told me they were unable to assist me in anyway because I booked through a third-party vendor. There were plenty of seats available on the next flight and I would've been able to fly standby had I purchased directly from the airline. Never again"

Very professional, attentive, good food, little amenities that make a difference in the overall experience of traveling. Very clean bathrooms, even after a 16-1/2 hour flight to Taipei it was still clean at the end of the trip. Food was good and plentiful, wine, spirits, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages offered. Came around at least three times on the leg to Taipei with food and water and when I wanted more water they gladly made sure I stayed hydrated on such a long flight."

I was not well throughout the entire flight and they went out of their way repeatedly to make sure I was as comfortable as possible, including giving up two of their own crew seats to me for most of the 14 hour flight from Taipei to New York. The crew also made sure that the bathrooms were kept stocked and cleaned. This is something you don't see enough of in other airlines where the bathrooms become disgusting by around mid-flight on long-haul flights. The entertainment systems are modern and designed well for practical use, unlike some other airlines that still have many or all controls situated on the armrests. They use quality touchscreens which control everything including the overhead light and attendant call button. I also like the fact that I could check 2 bags and select my seat without any fees unlike too many other airlines are doing today."

They have very few New Releases and don't seem to update them at the beginning of the month compared to many other airlines, such as Cathay Pacific. On long flights this is one thing that should be given more attention."

Positiv: "I took EVA flight 55 from Chicago O'Hare to Taipei Taoyuan airport. Everything went smoothly, from the check-in where the check-in and baggage staff informed me that one of my check-in bags was a little over weight and gave me a chance to repack the bag so I did not need to pay. Security lines for the red-eye flight time were not long, and once I arrived at the gate, EVA's boarding crew moved passengers along quickly. Flight attendants were very professional and courteous. Landing and baggage claim went well. No complaints at all! I would recommend this flight to anyone wanting direct service from Chicago to Taipei."
Positiv: "The flight left and arrive on time. The crew pleasant, the food great and the choice of what to drink was a nice selection. Liked the tracking map of the flight. Would fly with them again if I was going to their locations. Four of us booked at the same time and at least their paired us next to each other."
Negativ: "Going from one gate to another and having to re-enter, take shoes off etc and there was a long line. Bring your own headphones, they were like $20 a piece."
